A couple of wins for Robbie Russell and Sogndal this week. Player ratings are 1-10, 10 being best. Generally 3-8 are actually given.

    SOGNDAL - VÅLERENGA 2 - 0
Russell went 90 at the back and received a 5 (range 3-7 for Sogndal).

    SOGNDAL - MOLDE 2 - 1
Russell went 90 at the back and recieved a 5 (range 4-7 for Sogndal).

For comparison, the top player in the league is Orjan Berg from Rosenberg, averaging 5.93. Robbie Russell is averaging 4.43.

You can see Russell's full rating, PT, etc. data (page is in Norwegian)here.

Nice work keeping track of Russell. You can become to Norway what olafgb is to Germany. We'll need you if the latest batch of BMcB rumors amount to anything.

BTW, these wins are over two pretty good clubs, no? At least I've heard of them. Wasn't Molde in the CL before? And Valerenga is where Carew started out, if I'm not mistaken. And didn't Sogndal suck last year? Clearly, all credit for any improvement goes to the Yank, even if he is a Dukie.

More than you probaly want to know

Actually the whole year this year in the Tippenligen is topsy turvey (come to the Northern European Board Nowegian discussion, it is lonely). Lyn is currently leading the series (not unlike the patriots winning superbowl) with with Staebak in second and the big dog RBK in third. Odd had been in second but has fallen back a bit. Sogndal pretty much struggled this year, but since the break they have been hot. Molde charged at Lyn right before the break but are stumbling a bit.

Berg is a very, very good player, but Per Egil Swift is the best two way player in the league. Lyn also has Johnny Hannsen who is really good this year.
