still wondering how you want us to pay for the tickets? Just pay you when we meet up or what?

Also, wondering if everyone wants to meet in Milwaukee and travel together or do you want to rent a bus or something and travel down there that way? What say the group?

    Can't wait!!!

I think that most people are leaving from Madison somewhere (I have to pick up my sister in Janesville).

But it is a good idea to try to carpool.

O.K., we are in Green Bay, so traveling anywhere for us is feasable. We really should, otherwise it's a bit difficult to get together and tailgate! Anyone have ideas on what they want to do for tailgating and when they want to leave? We'd be willing to go down to Madison no problem.

What does everybody think about meeting up in Madison, then going? Or does Janesville make more sense?

I can leave Madison around 1:30 or 2. Does that sound good?

O.k., I think that meeting up in Janesville actually makes a bit more sense, a bit easier to get to things there, ya know, not being a resident of Madison it can be a bit confusing getting around!! I think that if we meet up around 1:30 that should get us to the staduim in plenty of time. Now it's just a matter of where to meet up exactly!! :) I really can't wait for the game, it should be very exicting. Just hope I don't get beat up to badly for being a DCU fan, hehe. See you all on Sat. and let's have some fun!

Ok, I plan on picking up a buddy in Hanover Park, IL (on the way to the stadium). So I do have room for one person in my car.

It may be easier for people to meet in Janesville. Probably at one of the hotel parking lots. Then we can carpool, figure out where to park, etc.

I was at the game vs Dallas on Saturday. Pretty easy to get to the stadium. There was road constuction north of Rockford and delays at the South Beloit toll plaza (which caused me on the drive back to exit at Belvidere and head up through Clinton to avoid the 2-3 mile traffic backup).

Easiest Directions: I-90 towards Chicago. At Schaumburg, take I-290 south. Follow I-290 to I-294 south. Exit I-294 at I-55 NORTH toward Chicago. Exit LaGrange Road SOUTH. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to IL-171/Archer Ave North. Take IL-171/Archer Ave north past a cemetery and take a sharp right onto Roberts Rd. Then turn left onto 71st St. This will take you to the stadium.

While on IL-171/Archer Ave, and as you pass the cemetery which is on the right, there is a liquor store on the left hand side.

Just in case you're someone that doesn't want to travel with alcohol in your car...this liquor store is about 1 mile or so from the stadium.

Thanks for the directions, anyone going interested in meeting up in Janesville, I just need to know, I'm all alone from Green Bay and would like to be able to travel with some of you madison folk and get to know you before we actually get to the stadium!! Just let me know what time you are all thinking and I will be down there. Thanks!!! If you have any questions for me, please PM me for my cell phone.

    ~Andy

mod edit - i took your cell phone number out of the post. there are always weirdos out there that may call and you don't want to have to worry about extra charges.

i'm for meeting up in janesville. how about 2 p.m. City Ice Man can pick the spot -- preferably just off the Interstate.

i will have at least five people in my vehicle. i think seven others are going on their own and will meet us there.

not sure on the others. jammybastard?

tickets are $25. cash is always nice, but if you need to write a check, PM me

I say we meet at the Baymont Inn Hotel on the SE side of Janesville. Probably the easiest place to meet since it is away from the commercial zone in Janesville.

    see attached.

    Exit 175. Hwy 11 Delavan.

Like I said, I have room for one since I am going to pick up a friend in Hanover Park (and should only take a second if people are following). I should also warn that I have IPass.

I can give you a ride. You just have to put up with my sister. I'll have a blue car and try to be there around 1:45.

i thought it was awesome, even in the first-half rain. our seats were excellent, felt close to the action.

i certainly will be going back as much as possible.

got to congratulate peter, tailgate until the downpour and see a great match.

I thought the stadium was pretty awesome, site lines were amazing and even though it was pouring out the atmosphere was mostly fun. Only complaint that I have is that when sitting in the away section there really wasn't much security around us until problems occured. Felt as though most of the problems could've been avoided if more security would've been around. Otherwise it was so much fun that I'll be going back in Sept. to cheer the Fire on against the Galaxy and Donovan, grrr, gosh I hate and love that guy :)

Thanks to all those that went with and drove down, it was great to meet and talk soccer with all of you. Stay in contact.

Very happy with the stadium. From the pictures that I had seen, it really didn't look very impressive, to be honest. Granted those were pictures of an empty stadium but it seemed like it would be to open. As soon as we walked into the stadium, that all went away and I loved it. Actually, the crowds at Fire games have really improved over the last several years - at least for the few games I've made it to. Last year I only made it to a late season match against Columbus. Fire went down 2-1, I think, but the crowd was fantastic. Even in Soldier Field, they really made it a nice environment. I remember going several years ago, the last year in the old Soldier Field I think, and the atmosphere was pretty lame. No more.

Hats off to the Fire faithful.

Oh yeah, gotta thank the Chicago Kickers folks (especially the Ternes) for feeding me.
