Jamaica is for sure the winner of round 1, but give credit to Honduras for the comeback win and CR for coming back to get the draw. These matches should be a wake up for Mexico and the US, crappy play won't get you through.

So happy Mexico drew makes sh1t intense for them. I felt Honduras would beat US and very surprised Panama lost although CR has a very nice player pool from Europe.

I think Honduras will beat Mexico in March. I feel that USA will have their things together against CR. And JamROck will beat Panama.

    Round 2 March 22.

    Honduras 6
    USA 3
    JamRock 3
    CR 1
    Mexico 1
    Panama 1

Between MEX/HON/JAM/USA, I really felt that the US is the only team that looked bad today. Thank goodness for Dempsey.

Jamaica was great though. It's like a whole team of Usain Bolts out there (assuming Usain Bolt also likes to kick directly to the goalie even when looking at a wide-open net) and Donovan Ricketts? Way to go, big chief!

Jamaica played well off our mistakes - simple as that.

Jamaica seems to be a real contender for one of the spots now with the EPL and Championship players they just brought in.

They seem like they are still a step away at this point though. Once they start capitalizing on the other sides mistakes then they will be very dangerous.

    Granted.

But they're in a whole other set of confidence - they got a result in arguably the toughest places to get a result away.

Whos to say they cant achieve better on others home ground.

No arguments there. This is a side that can do very well. It is going to be fun to watch them.

Jamaica has 1 point so if they beat Panama they will have 4, not 3.

Agreed. Reggae Boyz look more disciplined in the back than they have for a while. Maybe ever.

If Mexico fail to win Honduras (a real possibility), that USA/Mexico game AZTECA could be delicious. The loser could be in real trouble after 3 games.

I think its more of a possibility for them to tie at Honduras than Honduras winning. Just because Mexico has a better back line that the USA did at the game. But either way, these games coming up will start revealing who will go on to the world cup 2014.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of realistically possible scenarios where all six teams remain within 2-3 points of each other after the end of Round 3.

True, but, let's say if one team gets behind now. Then what? If a team gets behind, they are forced to win games. Which makes for teams playing under pressure, and most CONCACAF teams don't play well under pressure. A clear example is the USA. Playing away, tired, under pressure, they broke so simple, bye one honduran player! Now, maybe not always, but most of the time, teams that fall behind stay behind. Costa Rica broke the rule, so other teams just might shut me up lol, well have to wait and see

That's the game of the CONCACAF games. I honestly think honduras can at least pull a tie, no offense to Mexico. Honduras is first and they're gonna give it their all to stay that way.

I'm looking forward to all the games, but Honduras hosting Mexico has to be the pick of the litter. If Honduras wins, they'll have 6 points, a lead atop the group, and have wins over both the US and Mexico at home right out of the gate. A feat that is going to be tough to match for their perceived competition for the 3rd spot. And Mexico would be looking at 1 point from 2 matches with old nemesis the USA coming to Azteca. A Mexico win restores calm in their camp, and some degree of order to the top of the Hex.

USA hosting Costa Rica isn't necessarily must win for the USA, but it is close. And a loss would be devastating. USA lots of injury issues (Howard, Cherundolo, Chandler, Fabian Johnson, Danny Williams, Torres, and Donovan on self-imposed sabbatical). Saborio now doubtful for Costa Rica.

And Jamaica has a nice chance to build on their draw at Azteca (which could have easily been a win), and Panama have a chance to bounce back from blowing a 2 goal lead at home to Costa Rica.

Wins at home in the hex are a must.

I think Honduras wins like they usually do at home against Mexico.
USA wins in the cold and Altitude.
Panama brings Jamaica down to earth and gets an upset. Just a gut feeling.

Yeah it would be pretty bad, I know if the US loses I will be quite pissed. Of course if Mexico doesn't get a good result I am sure we will see a meltdown of sorts as well
