Yes, it could at some point in time "ever" be a concern.
You really like to be dismissive, don't you?

Anyways, most fouls mean a player lost a battle or had to go beyond the rules of the game to win the battle. That's why it's a foul.
Mostly, they come from 3 situations: a player would get beat but fouls someone (bad bc he was beat); a player goes for a 50-50, loses the battle and fouls someone (bad); or "professional" fouls. So.... yes fouls generally mean the foul-committer lost out in some way. At the very least it just means the fouler gave up a free kick, which is bad.

What exactly is Klinsi waiting for? We're about to have the longest camp of the year with 5 total matches and our first 2 WCQs and he's holding off the public roster announcement for what, exactly?

(And honestly, we need a roster announcement badly. We've been arguing about speculation for way too long...)

Klinsmann needs to give eight more interviews, with 15 different explanations for why the roster won't be coming out until Tuesday, before the roster comes out.

Quoting soccer 'journalists' for truth hurts one's credibility immensely.

Kinda like Tim Ream and Zak Whitbread...

I don't care for 'generally' or 'mostly'. We're talking about a specific player and 29 specific fouls. So it's just a number. We don't know the effect of those 29 fouls at all. In other words this accumulative number is not ever going to be a concern.

As for "giving up free kicks is bad": complete nonsense.
And fyi, many fouls are committed as a result of other players' mistakes.

Olave, DeMerit, Cameron, Marshall, Besler? I didn't say anything about the US pool, but MLS. And no, I don't rate Morrow higher than John obviously. No need to get hostile

    1. Rating him above Gonzalez is retarted. There's a reason the defending champion Galaxy suck this year, and it's because Gonzalez isn't in the back.
    2. Borchers, Wynne, Valdes, Olave, etc. are all at least at the same level as John.

Only three scored in the seven games where they dropped points. The problem doesn't seem to be Gonzalez' absence.

wow you actually sound like a reasonable person...well then read below and see what people more informed then you think

Oh i forgot where I was again....the internet; where supporting an opinion is a sign of weakness and insincerity

    2011 SBI DOY :

Here is how the rest of the field for SBI MLS Defender of the Year shook out:
FC Dallas centerback George John finished second in the SBI voting, with his outstanding play in the first half of the season keying Dallas' strong form.
Real Salt Lake's Nat Borchers finished third in the voting, with his leadership, ability to read the game and score on set pieces giving him the edge over teammate Jamison Olave, who finished fourth in the voting. Columbus Crew centerback Chad Marshall finished just behind Olave in the voting.

    2011 SA DOY :

    SA's Top 12 Center Backs
    1. Omar Gonzalez (Los Angeles)
    2. George John (FC Dallas)
    3. Nat Borchers (Real Salt Lake)
    4. Carlos Valdes (Philadelphia)
    5. Jeff Parke (Seattle)
    6. Jamison Olave (Real Salt Lake)
    7. A.J. DeLaGarza (Los Angeles)
    8. Chad Marshall (Columbus)
    9. Bobby Boswell (Houston)
    10. A.J. Soares (New England)
    11. Jhon Kennedy Hurtado (Seattle)
    12. Aurelien Collin (Sporting Kansas City)

    SBI Best x1:
    FIRST TEAM
    GK: Faryd Mondragon
DEF: George John, Omar Gonzalez, Nat Borchers
MF: Landon Donovan, David Beckham, Brek Shea, Brad Davis, Joel Lindpere
    F: Thierry Henry, Chris Wondolowski

Just putting that up there to make sure we're still talking about the same player and not Jan George maybe, i find it really really hard to tell sometimes.

I don't hate Ives. I think he's a decent writer and he's out there working hard and doing his thing and I certainly visit his site daily for quick updates and news. Having said that, I give his soccer analysis, assessments and evaluations no greater deference than I would give the hopefully soon-to-launch SoccerbyIceberg602.

In other words, using SBI's teams of the week or years [which is probably Ives, Franco and perhaps another dude or a guy in a chimpsuit im hoping] or SoccerAmerica for that matter to buttress one's argument is not all that persuasive to me.

Something that Tim Ream did immediately upon his arrival in the EPL

And yes, I have never understood how/why West Ham always ends up in this situation. Easily the most disappointing team in England.

Guzan is already in the pool of 42 since he had a callup but your point is well taken with Lichaj the clear exception to the rule.

Boyd had been ranked above Wooten in both the U23 camps and the mens team so I don't think Wooten's end of season first team games will make much of a difference for this camp.

If I was George John, I would cringe while reading this then go check my deadbolts and windows. Stalkers are dangerous.

    Stalker, fanboy, or relative?

Since they add favorite team under the usernames, they need to add favorite player, then we can save time ignoring people more quickly.

Any chance we talk about something other than George John in here? Like, maybe, I don't know, Freddy Adu? Haven't discussed him in about 3 days.

Anyone want to put a hard 29 man initial roster down? I'm getting mine together right now and will post.
