I didn't see many Castilla games, but that's what I heard so maybe my expectations were too high. At the beginning of the game his man got behind him a few times, one of which where he actually stepped up a bit seeming to not realize what his mark was doing. There were a few other times where he just had to cover a ton of ground then made pretty long sliding challenges. He made them and it worked, but they were higher risk tackles than he'd have needed to make had he shaded a bit more as the play developed. Not a bad game at all and the pass was very nice. I just wouldn't have picked him as one of the standouts from this game alone.

Jesé puts Castilla up 1-0 after a massive Cádiz ******** up.

Joselu misses a penalty that shouldn't have been awarded. But since the referee did award he also should have shown the Cádiz defender the red card. Just before another Cádiz player was lucky to escape a red card.

Mosquera scores a direct free kick. Keeper was horribly positioned. 2-0.

Castilla playing first team and being asleep during set pieces and Cádiz pull one back. 3-1.

Right after that we had 3 vs. 1 that we messed up.

In the most gracious way possible, when the matchups were announced, Toril said he really liked us getting Cadiz. I can see why now :ROFLMAO:

    Well done babehs!

Morata decides to join in. 5-1. After the scoring he kisses the badge.

    Qué fiesta.

Cádiz have been dreadful. I'm looking forward to seeing what Castilla and the canteranos are able to against decent opposition.

Great to see Perez at the game; despite the great pain he must be going through, he still manages to be professional and serve this club.

Didn't know where to post this ... Perez was at the game and in the minute of silence he was like this:

Looks very sad. I don't know him in person, but I think this will affect him very deeply. He might not be the same man after this loss. Looking at his eyes in the picture breaks hearts.

Castilla leading 3-0 in the playoff match vs Mirandes (for the Segunda Division B Champion). Joselu(2) and Jese with the goals... The former is not the brightest of them all, though... Celebrates by squinting his eyes (his girlfriend is in China, or something).

Castilla generally playing very well. Lots of chances being created from all over the pitch.

Mejías saved a PK early on (10th minute or so). And to be fair, Mirandés has been playing a man down the entire second half (their keeper was sent off late in the first half). All that said, it sounds like the boys are doing good work and may still bag another one. Nice result for the first leg!

I thought they already qualified to the next division no? Or is this the one they gotta win to get up there?

They are already qualified for Segunda, but now they are playing for the title of Segunda B champion.

edit: I should add the that 'really important' part was what RM Castilla and Mirandés did last week, which is getting promoted to Segunda

Over the course of the season Morata has really grown into playing out wide eh? It was a bit iffy early on IMO but he looks really sharp although I'd like to see him play more centrally as I think that ultimately that is where he will earn his money. But I guess all the greats"served their time" on the flanks and this should only benefit him.

Florentino is one tough cookie. He has shown up for events in this short time since his wife died. We were at a Real Madrid Foundation event last week that he wasn't scheduled to preside but he came and presented it. (100 years book presentation)
