Vamos River campeones del mundo sub 17 campeones Libertadores sub 20. Andrade player of the tournament 1-0 over Atletico gol from Driussi. I know its like a long playing record little by little Passarella and Ramon and all the youth coaches are returning River to its rightful place. The chances are we wont win the primera but we are fighting and the inferiores are producing big time.
We are certainly on the up. In this economy we may not be able to maintain a team worthy of being called La Maquina anymore, but I'd settle for "La Fabrica"
I think today it's a lot less interesting for european clubs to poach them at early age and using patria potestad, because if one kid moves out before its 18, the club will have to pay 50% of rights in a future transfer to the formative club.
What did I say? Looks like Barcelona and Atletico Madrid already approached Tomas Andrade (chosen as the player of the tournament) to offer him a contract. http://www.riverplate.com/Noticias/...de-me-llamaron-barcelona-atletico-madrid.html Who knows if any of the other players received offers as well. The good thing is that it doesn't seem like Andrade plans on leaving just yet.
TEN millos called up for the Argentine U-20 national team: Augusto Batalla Leandro Vega Emanuel Mammana Sebastián Driussi Emiliano Agüero Tomás Martínez Juan Cruz Kaprof Giovanni Simeone Pablo Carrera Matías Sánchez http://www.riverplate.com/Noticias/...res-de-river-convocados-seleccion-sub-20.html
Emiliano Aguero called up for the first team for Sunday's game vs. Rafaela. http://www.riverplate.com/Noticias/...nvocado-suplente-river-vs-rafaela-2014.html?i
Only ten of the final 16 World Cup sparrings have been announced, but in the initial list there are four millos: Augusto Batalla, Matias Sanchez, Tomas Martinez, and Gio Simeone.
Alan Arario, promising youngster who had already tried to leave to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, leaves River's youth divisions for Roma: http://www.riverplate.com/Noticias/...lan-arario-quedo-libre-se-fue-roma-river.html
Anybody know how Matias Sanchez - the kid on loan from Chacarita - is doing? I'm assuming he's playing in reserves. Always seemed like an interesting player.. The other one I was wondering about was Mauro Mallorca, the 10 who arrived from Temperley in the Passarella era. @RiverGaucho ? @msi2 ? anyone?
Matias Sanchez is often with the youth NT and lately they were in Spain for a tournament... He should be back with the reserve team at least for a couple of weeks until the next sudamericano sub-20 next January. I don't think Gallardo will count on him for the current tournament (unless for a big streak of injuries in the first team). As for Mauro Mallorca, i have no idea.
Interesting read on Gavin De Niese, 18 year old Australian winger who plays for River's youth divisions. http://www.ole.com.ar/river-plate/inferiores/fijo-Negro-Sanchez_0_1242475789.html Luigi Villalba, who coaches his division, on him: "Gavin es un chico con muchísimas condiciones y que, además, es muy inteligente.
Abel Casquete (Ecuadorian playmaker) and Lucas Martinez Quarta called up to train with the professional first team squad for the first time: In other youth-related news, the 7th division (which includes Gallardo and Simeone's sons) won back-to-back titles... a few interviews with some of the kids:
I've heard of that Ecuadorian kid, he looks like a real crack... And he sounds like un porteño mas lol.
I'm still curious about Matias Sanchez's situation. Considering how so many youngsters got opportunities in recent times (Martinez, Kaprof, Gio, Driussi, etc.), I figured he'd at least be on the radar. Has he underperformed since arriving, or is Mune just not keeping much of an eye on him? Strange situation. Great prospect. If I'm not mistaken his loan from Chacarita ends next month, meaning he could be leaving through the backdoor without even debuting unless River uses the transfer clause.
Yeah, I just looked it up... 12 month loan (he arrived in February of this year), with a transfer clause of $1,750,000 for 50% of his transfer. http://www.cariverplate.com.ar/matias-sanchez-refuerzo-river-plate-torneo-final-2014/ I guess its safe to assume that he'll be returning to Chaca, unless they're somehow friendly and willing to renegotiate a new loan.
