It looks like Facundo Ferreyra (Banfield) is getting closer and closer to River. We would be offering $1,850,000 + Chichizola and Bou on loan for a year in exchange for 50% of the Taladro forward's transfer.

Not sure how I feel about this one. He could be an interesting player and is still very young, but he appears to be a bit Funes Mori-ish. Also, with the money we are going to spend on him + the ridiculous, fishy figures we spent on Botinelli we could have brought in a top player. Oh well.

Ferreyra is an upgrade over Funes Mori IMO, but get the concern, we should probably be looking at more established players.

So basically we're going to play with a double 9 like Falcioni's bosta?

Holy shit! This came out of nowhere! -- Chino Luna to River:
    http://www.riverplate.com/Noticias/...-luna-seria-nuevo-jugador-de-river-plate.html

I've always liked him since his first era in Tigre back in the day. Not quite sure if he's going to do well in River (we've seen tons of great players have fantastic seasons and then flop as soon as they put on la banda), but there's no doubt that he's a great player.

I like this signing so much. I think el Chino is a crack. Of course, with Almeyda he could play him at leftback or even in goal, but if he gets to play in his natural position he will be so dangerous.

I have a feeling he will do better than the bast signings like Pavone, Caruso, Canales, etc. I see more class in el Chino's game. I think he could score 10 goals or more this torneo if our dt uses him instead of fm9

We should have sold both and brought in some others. I like Ocampos, but it appears Almeyda has no intention to use him in his natural position. All he did last game (and for the most part the 2nd half of last torneo) was the bicicleta that didn't quite work.

Funes Mori has conditions but will never succeed at River. He should be sold

Had we sold FM9 last week, we could have had more time to bring someone serious in. We still have a bit, and we still have a cupo de extranjeros open. Hopefully we can take advantage

Carlos Luna top scorer in the Clausura joined on a three year contract.A risky move as he appears to have some injury worries. But short term its much needed as hes in great form.It appears Monaco have offered 12 million euro for Ocampos.

Goodbye Ocampos.. best of luck to the pibe!

He may have been frustrating at times, but I think many of us forget how young he really is. He was forced to mature quickly over the last year, hopefully he does well in France.

Interesting to see the Monaco are still in Ligue 2, hopefully Lucas can help that club get back to where it belongs like he did with River.

Would have preferred to sell FM9, but its good money for an 18 year old, and theres no question he will be living the life... And he's following the foot steps of Gallardo and Trezeguet, not bad company (also Henry, Rafa Marquez, Djorkaeff et all) Its certainly a good spot to start your european career, though i'm sure the night life can be a distraction. Hopefully the pibe will keep his head on straight

Rodrigo Mora according to the Argentine press is a done deal.Hes been in fantastic form for Benfica in preseason and his move is being criticized on the Benfica forum.Maybe Funes Mori will be in Portugal in the next 12 months

I'm not too familiar with Mora, but his recent numbers are impressive (.71 goals/game averaging his last 4 seasons):

    2009–2010 Cerro 12 (9)
    2010–2011 Defensor 15(11)
    2011– Benfica 1(0)
    2012 → Peñarol(loan) 14(10)
What else can you tell me about him?

I have to admit I had never even heard of this guy until the news came out that we were after him. Those numbers are impressive, and he should be a good change of pace, we need a good delantero por afuera, something we haven't had in god knows how long.

I am in favor of this signing, even though it will mean even less time for Keko who is very low on almeyda's depth chart. I'm surprised Keko didn't accept the loan move to Union when they went for him.

I don't want Formica to come however. I'd much rather give more minutes to Lanzini and Cazares, who is a real talent but not high in Almeyda's plans. I would have brought on Cazares and Keko both in each of the last two games

It appears Mora has scored four goals in three preseason games for Benfica but the DT Jorge Jesus isnt a fan.I would be surprised if Formica signs but I think Piatti would help us on the left side of midfield maybe allowing Rojas to play at left back.Trezeguets performance was very interesting v the Pincha and showed us what probably needs to be done 4-4-1-1 a system which would be perfect for Lanzini. This would be the ideal away from the Monumental where it is now easier for River to play.

I know there's somewhat of a link between River and Rayo, with a lot of Rayo fans being big time River fanatics as well. He shouldn't have a hard time fitting in there. Best of luck Chori!

I always liked Rayo, now I do even more. They played some nice stuff last year too, really fearless team.

Glad to see both Chori and Cave finding clubs in Spain to play for.

Well as I said a few posts ago I was surprised Keko didn't accept a move to Union, well it appears he was right to wait. He is heading on loan to Nacional de Montevideo most likely

    http://www.riverplate.com/Noticias/...ser-transferido-a-nacional-de-montevideo.html

I am very sad to see Keko go, I always feel he has more to offer than Almeyda (and JJ Lopez before him) used him, but oh well. He will have a chance to play the clasico over there across the charco and will also participate in the copa sudamericana this year and copa libertadores next year, so it will be a great growing experience.

I'm very disappointed since, as you guys probably know by now, I'm a huge Keko fan. Unfortuantely, if he didn't play much last season, he'd probably play even less now with Luna and Mora's arrivals. If Almeyda would give him more chances I'd say reject the offer without a doubt.. but let's be honest: he won't play more than a couple minutes, so this move is the best for everyone. Hopefully he continues growing as a player and returns ready for a starting spot in a year (I would have made it a 6-month loan, personally).

I haven't read much into the deal, but is there a buyout clause for the Uruguayans? If there is, Passarella fucked up big time, but I'm assuming it's just a one-year loan sin opcion.

I'm a huge Keko fan, but as you say, Almeyda won't give him the time of day, so its best for him to go to get playing time at a big club. He will probably get plenty of confidence scoring against the half-amateur sides that make up much of Uruguay's first division and great experience playing in the Copa.

Hopefully, with a new coach when Almeyda leaves next year he will be given a serious chance.

Passarella was spotted at the Franchi with Fiorentina sporting director Prade, but it's probably just a personal visit.

Bottinelli arrived from a club he never even played for and whos director just happens to be under investigation for fraud. I'm afraid this may have little to do with Grondona and a lot more to do with a couple people using River to pocket a few extra dollars.

By the way, they're also looking into San Lorenzo for Piatti's transfer. This is not about Passarella and Grondona not seeing eye to eye.
