I think I found that hidden gem in Uruguay. His name is Emiliano Alfaro and he plays for Liverpool. He's 21 and has had a a great Apertura scoring 14 goals in 18 games. Not a big player, only 5'8" tall, but he seems to always be in the right place at the right time. Might be a player for Astrada to look at.

I definitely agree about the promoting pibes to Primera part. As for second division players, we've been gambling on players for way too long. Unfortunately none of them have worked out really, and the best players we have right now were made in the club. Regarding your Palermo point, that goes back to my topic of Argentine clubs overpricing players. In today's market, Estudiantes would be putting a price tag that is way too high for River.

I think if we gamble on any players, it should be after the Clausura: right now we can only bring in 4 reinforcements, while there is no transfer limit during the Winter break.

Are you just recommending him off of statistics, or have you actually seen him play? He sounds like an interesting player, I'm wondering what his main characteristics are. Any videos, Mune?

I highly recommend prolific goalscorer Teofilo Gutierrez from Junior de Barranquilla in the Colombian League. And I've seen him play. Youtube him.

Then again it's widely known that Ortega reccomended Martín Gomez for River, Gorosito didn't want him so Ortega then talked with Gallego...

By the way, Alexis Blanco belongs to Independiente, he's on loan at Italiano.

On many places it's suggested that River will go after Bolatti, however it's likely that Boca will begin to chase him too.

There are vids of him on Youtube but I forgot how to post them. I'm more used to posting pics in my Riverplatenses thread, then posting vids.:D

It's easy: there used to be a "code" necessary to put Youtube videos, but now you only have to insert the link. Just copy and paste it from your URL bar, there's no coding required anymore. :)

I would be ecstatic if Bolatti came to River. He was excellent for Huracan last season, and alongside Almeyda I think he would be incredible. Sure, I'd love to see Domingo succeed, but Bolatti is just a fantastic player.

Funny how people can make judgements just based on nationality. Were all uruguayans at River like el Enzo? I highly doubt it.
