Blackwell Confirms Interest. Anybody got any info, opinions, ever seen this guy play etc..... What do you guys think about another forward? Should we be concentrating on other areas right now (midfield, defense)?

I had a look around and there is just about nothing on Rivaldo at all. What i did find however are a few facts about him:

    Full Name: Rivaldo Gonzalez Kiese
    Birthday: 23 December 1987
    Nationality: Paraguayan
Position: Mainly striker but can play in midfield
Appearences: 18 for current club including 9 this season.
    Goals: None

From what I found his stats do not show him to be a good player at all. He has barely made any appearences in a team that has been relegated this season from the Seria B and for a striker he hasn't even bagged a goal. But if Blackie reckons he is worth it and has the potential then I have full trust in him and hope that a deal can be struck so that he joins soon. I wouldnt think it would be that much of a fee at all.

I have to question whether this could be considered a major signing at all considering the forwards we already have. Midfield...yes, please. Defense...yes. I don't want to talk strikers unless Michael Owen loses his mind and demands to sign with Leeds.

Seriously, there are other areas that need shoring up but if you can bring in anyone who can score, that's a good thing. It's just that as Kiza has pointed out, there's no evidence that this kid can do that...yet.

I agree...I think one solid midfield and one solid defensive signing would be a better option right now. Lets hope Blackie can find them, and find them cheap.
