given the 2 weed wins and the 2 gay marriage wins and the changing landscape that led to a weird win for obama probably has V.O. Key smiling somewhere
i've sent a text to our bus leaders to ask them to remind everyone again about the minute of silence as they get closer
I heard about this a couple of days ago; but I hadn't realized it happened while away from home for the match. That is just awful. I wasn't able to make the road trip because of work meetings all day; but I'll be observing that minute, and thinking of your friend, where I am.
The participation of the DC fans in the Minute of Silence, as well as your display of an "RIP Bill" banner, was much appreciated.
I'm glad they went through with it - I was afraid that pent-up bitterness over the Great Snow Removal Debacle of 2012 might have caused them to forget about it. Although the bitterness wasn't at all directed at RBNY fans, from what I could tell, so there's no reason to act classlessly.
Pure coincidence--last night I was going through my messages on FB (looking for something else) and found some from him. Stopped to read them. An old exchange the day after he and I hung out @ Kilroys one night; I was worried that he or someone else at the table got stuck with part of my bill because on second thought my tab seemed too low. His response was basically there were no issues when everybody else paid their share, and at any rate it was good to see me so no worries. Typical Chico.
I know he's grinning hard right now and must be really proud of Bolivia in the libertadores. His strongest has made it to the Libertadores final 16 first time I believe since 1994. Their rivals--my team Bolivar tonight may be on the verge of an upset over their mexican rival. He may not be SO happy about that.... But his Strongest got a weaker rival in Defensor Sporting of Uruguay. Even though they are our rival...I will be cheering them on thinking about how happy Chico is watching his boys kicking ass in teh Libertadores this year. Que viva el TIGRE!! (for you chico...)
Unstickied after two years per request of a personal friend of Chico. RIP Chico. We won't forget you.
I think at some point it rather becomes a matter of 'duty' and 'a commitment'. I, (like a few of the posters on the thread I imagine), never met the guy ... but my guess is he wouldn't want that to be the case.
