And assholes like Dick Cheney get heart transplants so they can pollute the earth a while longer. It's just wrong.
Heh, I said this EXACT thing to Red&Black on the Wednesday game after Chico passed away. I don't know that I want to live in a world where Dick Cheney is still taking up oxygen but Chico is taken from us wayyyy too soon.
I thought the same thing about Chico and Raffi Torres. Seriously. I did. What was Chico's favorite beer? I'm getting ready to tailgate and figured I'd have a few in his honor.
I've always been "bitter" that they import Foster's and not the far superior VB. But Foster's it is. Sweet shirt . . . at least, the back of it.
Sounds like an excellent way to pay homage to him. I'll have to go get me one of those. Salud, Chico!
some years ago when the barra was smaller than it is today chico used to pull his white t-bird up with a big cooler chock full of those damn oil cans and many a new member's first experience in the barra was wrapping their hand around one of those cans and walking around being introduced by chico
Sometimes, when real life gets in the way, you can miss threads for several days, only to check them out and think. 'Huh, no biggie... nothing I've missed there that's important'. This isn't one of those occasions Never met the guy but we exchanged positive 'rep' back and forth in the P&CE boards for the past decade, (and it would have been more if the rep nazis hadn't got in the way), and came to recognise him as someone whose opinion was ALWAYS worthy of consideration even on those odd occasions when I didn't just flat out agree with the guy. I'll miss chatting with yer mate
On the 28th there was a celebration of Chico's life held in VA, not far from his home. It was full of folks from all parts of Chico's life--old friends, family, friends from work, soccer, school, etc. It was a really nice event and though there were some tears, it was a celebration, many of us shared funny or poignant stories (such as the time he stuck me with a $700 bar bill) and i think all captured the side of him we will long remember. Anyway I apologize for not posting this earlier but I know many of you don't live in the area and couldn't attend but his brother i have spoken at length at how much he appreciated his friends through BigSoccer, including so many folks he never met in person.
I need him in real life too. I think about him every day. I got one of these at his funeral And haven't taken it off since. Really miss him a lot. http://donatelife.net/
New York fans lost a brother early Sunday morning, as one of our travelling supporters did not make it back from the match. There will be a minute of silence during the 11th minute of tonight's match. It would be appreciated, if the travelling DC fans honored it, as RB fans did during the tribute to Chico. http://saulfuneralhomes.com/_mgxroot/page_11319.php?id=1130231 http://obits.nj.com/obituaries/tren...lliam-joseph-schopp&pid=160916128#fbLoggedOut
Worth a mention that Chico would have been delighted yesterday with Virginia's choices in the election.
We have sent a mailing to all traveling fans, posted on twitter and the leaders on each of the 11 buses will remind folks of it. We plan to support this activity 100%
