Darn, I was not aware that Ross had passed away. Sorry to read this. He was a good guy.

I didn't know Chico or interacted much with him, but clearly based on the outpouring on this thread he made a positive impact on the lives of many. Que en pas descanse Chico.

I don't believe I ever interacted with him on BS. I think I would have liked to, however, after checking out his favorite music, books and movies in his profile. RIP to Ross as well. This is all very sad.

I didn't really know Ross or Chico yet I came across some of their posts. Always terrible and shocking to read news like that and always remind us of the great value of our existence...

    RIP to them.

I will make it home in time to participate in the twelfth minute moment of silence, don my DC jersey in his honor, and mourn a death while celebrating a life.

    Flummoxed and gutted otherwise.

I appreciate folks sharing the news and starting a thread. I don't want it to be true, but I am glad I know.

His presence will definitely be missed.

I remember watching the Barra on tv and noticing how there was a definitive South American flair. I figured it was b/c of Echeverria bringing out Bolivian fans in the early days of the league. So it seems like Chico was one of them. Props to him, props to DC United, props to WaPo for covering his passing.

    Condolences to family and friends.

Awesome tribute. That was during the 12th minute, correct? Did they stop the game or was it on-going during the silence?
