Cities hosting the Olympics should be wary of things with a lot of zeros on the end.

I hope you're right. Those are great pictures, especially the one with the parachute.

I find it strange but the olympics are the one tournament that Brazil have never won. How great it would be if they could do it on their own turf for the first time.....

Considering how much his game has falling off since 2006, by 2016 I'll be a better player than him. :p

Those fairways look pretty wide. Can't Brazillians hit straight?

Congrats to those from RIO. Get ready for a huge party in 2016.

    Yep.

The 2 first pics are from the Pedra Bonita ('Pretty Rock') facing the Pedra da Gávea (the one the girl is staring at).

Fifteen minutes from downtown in Tijuca National Park (where the statue of the Christ is located).

The third pic is the Lighthouse Island Beach in Arraial do Cabo (1 1/2 hour north of Rio) for several times elected the most beautiful non-urban Brazilian beach.

    Yesss!...

The 1st step were the Panamerican Games, the second the 2014 World Cup & the third & glorious one the 2016 Olympic Games.

Nine golden years for Brazilian sport!...

The great turning point for the image of Rio de Janeiro.

I just hope that the football clubs of the city now start 'thinking big'! ....

Having the Olympics 2 years after the World Cup, Brazil had better hope they don't go bankrupt. That is a massive undertaking to do both in 2 years.

The London Olympics alone is already way way over budget
and people starting to moan at the cost, although I am looking forward to it as it is literally down the road from me.

There is going to be a lot of public moaning from Brazilians about the costs believe me!
