Makes sense, he pretty much owned them in a Revs uniform.

Now halftime, 1-1. I've asked the Impact to let us know the Revs lineup, nothing back yet.

That's a bit of progress. No guest players.

Twitter says it was White and Purdie with the goals.

BTW, Nyassi's absence from reserve matches is getting conspicuous. Has he even returned to training? Lechner?

    No, both still out.

Lechner broke a bone in his foot, I believe.

Lechner's foot injury was in mid-April, right? You'd think he'd be able to resume training very soon. Nyassi I get the impression is done for the season.

Two reserve games and a bye week should be great for getting White up to speed. I still think, as a veteran player with speed, he can be a very useful sub on the wing and up top.

There's certainly a log jam at that position, although if Heaps starts slotting Benny in at CM there might be an opening on the bench.

We certainly have a lot of wingers. Nguyen, Rowe, Cardenas, Purdie, White

Definitely a good result, as this was our reserves and academy players against essentially Montreal's A team (probably wanted to get a game in since they have 2 weeks off as opposed to our 1 week). So our reserves can beat MLS A sides but not D-3 opponents when spotted at 3-0 lead. Oh those crazy Revs...
    Argyle repped this.

Lechner said at the DCU viewing party that he was 2 or 3 weeks away.

Wouldn't know if from the Revs twitter feed, but the Revs actually did have a reserve game at Crew yesterday, losing 1-0. At least the Revs do have a story on their site, albeit it's the Crew's story. There's been a Nyassi signing! Even if he only played 34 minutes.

New England Revolution Bobby Shuttleworth, John Lozano, Darrius Barnes, Tyler Polak, Michael Roach, Ryan Kinne*, Pat Boucher*, Sainey Nyassi (Fernando Cardenas, 34), Jeremiah White (Bjorn Runstrom,46), Diego Fagundez, Blake Brettschneider
Substitutes not used: Tyler Zon^, C.J. Burnham^, Florian Lechner

Kinne back with the Reserve Team, that's interesting. I wonder if they're looking at re-signing him for RB depth.

He's still young, quick, and he has great skills for a defender. He would be a great RB project.

I agree, and I like Kinne, but I couldn't help but think that we already have a right back project.

Polak is a left back, if that's who you're thinking of. Our only RBs are Alston and Lechner right now.

Just glad to see Lozano play a full 90. With how much we're paying him, he's got to start seeing some time at some point.

No, I was thinking of Alston. I just do not rate him as highly as others, I guess. I still consider him a project. RB might be his number one position and he might be the number one RB on the Revs, but I still feel like we could do better at RB and that he has hopefully not reached his potential. To me his entire game is about speed, I wish it involved more skill, positional awareness, and reading of the game.

The issue is we have other "higher" needs at the moment. If you rank the positions that need improving, I think the chips would fall thusly:

    1. LB - Tierney will never be an MLS quality left back
    2. CB - McCarthy is OK, but I think we need to ditch Lozano and search for something else
    3. CM - Joseph is past it, and we have no depth here
    4. CDM (backup) - Simms understudy needed, ideally a young guy
    5. Striker (backup) - Until Moreno proves himself, we need someone else
    6. RB
