I love this move. It is going to make for so much good reading here on the BS Revs board.

Shalrie finally gets to retire as a Rev, we have done +1 correct things this season!

As for the on-the-field part of this, I'd like to see him get a run out as a forward. We need physicality up there, some one to hold the ball up top. Honestly I think he may be our best option as a lone forward now (competing with Imbongo)

How much gas is left in that tank? Hopefully , he can also help coach the younger players

This is an ideal move for the KAD crowd. Burns has now "addressed" the forward and d-mid needs well enough for the KAD bunch to claim that he has followed through on his offseason comments to fill certain needs. In fact, we will all be expected to reset our measure of the front office's merits.

All this move does is mask the complete worthlessness of Burns and others in the REV's front office. I hope Shalrie has some form of renaissance but this is still totally inadequate movement on the REV's part.

Wow. Burns' incompetence has reached a new high. We needed a DM so we get a player who was a shell of his former self 2 years ago?!?!? A little surprised Shalrie would even want to come back.

Hopefully this is just a 1 day contract and he announces his retirement tomorrow.

Massive power shift! Watch out, the rest of Eastern Conference.

Agree with the other comments. Hopefully this is a retirement as a Rev deal. Nothing more.

Oh well that's just smart business then. Why get a high priced DM when you can get a low priced DM? They cost more.

I'm assuming this isn't just a retirement thing, otherwise, they usually announce that all at the same time.

Welcome back to a Revs Legend.

I really have no idea what else to say here.

Happy to see SJ back in a Revs jersey, but not setting my expectations very high, based on his last 2 seasons.

I just hope they don't sell him to a NASL team...

I'm surprised they haven't brought back his boy Khano too.

Bull shit---don't lay that crap at the feet of those of us who tend to take a more positive view of life's events.
Bottom Line: JMO; the Revs have yet of make adequately fill the two slots they claim was their priority

The fact that you think that the NNNs on this forum don't tend look at life's events in a positive light is downright funny. I'm one of the most optimistic and upbeat people you'll meet, I just have a realistic outlook of this club and its ownership. Being downtrodden about this franchise is in no way, shape, or form any indication of how a person looks at life.

I was struck by how quickly (just a few years) Joseph went from being a dominant force to a shell of his former self. I have suspicions there is more to that story than just a player getting older. If--and it's a big if--he has resolved whatever caused the rapid drop off in performance he might just be able to add some good minute. The man isn't that old, he has always had a robust build and has shown he can play with the heart of a lion. Is it possible that he's rekindled his form and fire? My expectations are low but I'm a sucker for comeback stories.

    Welcome back Bully

Hope burns eternal in the heart of Soccer Doc..... Note how I avoided the "WC Fields" temptations buried in your last sentence? Well, I guess I didn't avoid it. ;)

I dont see him being of much use these days. I suppose if he came back at a low salary it wouldnt hurt but it is not the answer to any problem we have

If we're going to bring back haunting memories of "what could have been" from a decade ago....why not Dempsey? :ROFLMAO:

A person whose soul doesn't burn with the fire of hope rarely gets very far in life or accomplishes anything of true value.

I can only see this as a positive in two ways. 1. if they announce his retirement in the next few days and 2. If they add him to the coaching staff. Other than that I think this was a complete BS signing. A signing to try and please the fans to say, "hey we heard you and we delivered". He brings experience but as we have seen over the past 3 years his physical abilities have dwindled to a point where he could be more harmful than helpful

That's because no one has factored in the Revs' secret weapon.
