Hells yeah! That would cut my in-the-car time for a Revs game down from 8 hours to 2! (MLS Montreal can't get here fast enough...)
how does that saying go? You can change your wife, you can change your job, you can change your god, but never change your club.
I didn't say anything about changing my club... As much as I hate the way the Revs do business I can't quit them. Bastards. However, having the opportunity to go to an MLS game without having to make an overnight out of it is very appealing to me. If anyone wants to camp in my yard for road games I imagine the wife will abide. Don't mind the bears and bobcats- they don't usually maul anyone.
All this talk about Providence and Worcester, but no one has mentioned the most obvious of locations: Presque Isle, ME. It's right near the Canadian border, and Toronto and Vancouver seem to have good fanbases. And while there might not be young urbanites with disposable income, or expatriates from soccer nations, or infrastructure, or access, I'd much rather drive the 6 hours for home games than have to try to find a pub in Worcester.
No sign of this SSS but at least they signed a world class striker and finally found a shirt sponcer.
Ok world class might be a stretch but he is a $1m rated striker with a proven scoring record in a good league; not a free from the Gambian second tier and the have secured a shirt sponcer.
Where'd you hear this? We've been told they're close (almost is the greatest word in the Revs dictionary), but as far as anyone knows, nothing's official.
I guess it may not be official yet but I have good info (and thought it was known at this point) that they have signed a $1m shirt deal earlier this week. I guess we will find out offcially soon.
Joeyfitzclick, so this striker considered to be DP quality? Also can you at least mention what league he plays in?
I got ya loud and clear, but PI is actually fun for a night of drinking, I went to school up that way.
I hope Joeyfitzclick isn't referring seriously referring to the mock-up on the link that was posted as a joke many months ago. But if you do actually know something, share it. This is the interwebs in the 21st century, so anything goes. As for Presque Isle, our French players would feel right at home, because if you look in the phone book, you'll see a lot of French names. They will think it's just like Paris! Win-Win, I tell ya!
I was hoping for RingPopSoccer.com myself. That's still a running joke among friends I had STH's with back in 2006.
