I bought a ticket about 15 minutes ago. There were still singles available.

Hmmm . . . I looked at singles at Noon and the site indicated "no tickets match your criteria"

I suppose it could have been that I already made a purchase?

By the way, why'd you wait so long?

haha, I deleted it myself I'm sad to admit. I wish our Russian and Chinese overlords had that much interest in me.

There was something on twitter going around that AA went through a 3500 allotment in an hour. I posted it and then realized it could be complete made up bs, so I deleted it. It was more of a joke about the "one ticket per membership" rule. Let's see how those spot checks go. :p

Around 750 now, almost double what it was a few weeks ago. The majority of that 3500 allocation was taken up by NYC Arsenal who had something like 2000 ticket requests. Other large groups like Philly, Baltimore and San Francisco also had access to the shared allocation for their members. That Rick, Kurtis, and Hiddi were able to help fans secure nearly 5000 tickets is both a major triumph and a huge surprise. Well done to RBNY also to make that many tickets available to the supporters clubs.

    Indeed, kudos go to all!

Should be a fun night. My son who doesn't like loud places I'm gonna have to buy him a good pair of earplugs. That place should be rockin... I hope.

They were all quite active on fb trying to help people that missed out get tickets too. Well done by everyone. I can't believe RBNY put up an allocation that big.

They're no dummies. They want a full house. And they ain't gonna get that through the home fans, especially at the rather inflated prices, compared to their league matches. Catering to rabid Arsenal supporters who rarely if ever get to see their team play live is a no brainer.

I've been to a fair number of NYRB matches and I watch the rest on TV. They have quite a problem getting butts in the seats, even if their season ticket sales aren't too shabby. I just hope the usual no-shows actually drag their asses down there for this one. And support their team. Or else scalp their tickets to some Gooner who surely will. :D

NYRB played it pretty smart. I'm wondering if a lot of the scalpers who speculated on tickets will be disappointed. I've seen very few rabid fans who didn't get a ticket today, so i'm doubting that the market can support those inflated prices.

Tried to get tickets at about 10 this morning, but nothing was left. I was still on the fence about making the trip, but I guess that decision was made for me. Ah well.

The tickets on sale today were pretty expensive themselves. I would recommend monitoring Stubhub, it seems like only the more reasonably priced seats are selling there and i suspect that prices will come down when people figure out that demand won't support those inflated prices.

That's what I figured. Even yesterday I looked at stubhub and there were some for 90$ and today they're at 160$ for the cheapest.

Exactly. Even the face value prices are jacked up to almost double what they would be for an MLS game.

It's all about supply and demand. And presumably they figure the pent-up demand (25yrs since AFC last played here) warrants the high prices.

Can't really blame them too much. And there's plenty of time to lower the prices if they aren't selling, right?

I'll blame them, trying to make a dime off of other fans makes you a POS, no matter who you root for. I was especially disappointed to see seats for sale in section 220 where are all Arsenal season ticket holders are. I hope the club is able to catch and ban them.

I was talking about the club (NYRB) and their ticket pricing decisions. I was not talking about Arsenal season ticket holders who decide to scalp their tickets for a profit. The former sems completely their prerogative. The latter is more despicable, but still technically a free market right?

I'm also curious about the tickets offered to ArseAm members, weren't those mostly $46 face value? Yes that's maybe 50-100% higher than an average MLS fixture at RBA but isn't it typical for tickets for the big euro clubs summer tours to be jacked up a bit?

I thought $46 seemed pretty reasonable. I wonder what Arsenal charges for tickets at something like Emirates Cup? Less than this?
