The initial 3500 allocation were all $46 tickets, not sure about the additional allocation. $46 would be in line with the Emirates Cup pricing, i believe. Equivalent to 30 pound tickets roughly.
There will be more national and regional events in the near future. Some talk of a meetup in the midwest around September. Maybe in Milwaukee.
I've always found SG doesn't always show everything available, the only second hand website I ever use is Stubhub and the actual website always has more and usually cheaper options than what SG lists.
At this point i would wait til the last minute before buying through StubHub, the people who panicked when the game was first announced set the market on the high side, and it seems like only the cheaper tickets have sold since. Also contact info@arsenalamerica.com and see if they can help find you a ticket at face value.
Just found myself daydreaming about this match. And wondering if, for one reason or another we might not see wenger on the sideline for this one. Hmm.
Asked in an interview Friday with beIN SPORTS, broadcast on Talksport, whether he would stay or go at the end of the season, Wenger replied: "Look, I have said that many times already, I have given my word to this club and that I want to continue where I am … that means to stay." http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/25/arsene-wenger-arsenal-new-contract
Thanks for the suggestion, antifan. I'll try that. I just moved to the East Coast (from the West Coast) and am kicking myself that I missed out on this sale now that I am only 4 hours away from NY by car! I just need a single ticket anywhere in the stadium, but I don't want to resort to giving scalpers anything!
Woohoo.....just got two tickets for my birthday (best wife in the world). See you at the Blind Pig bitches!!!! This will be epic!
I'll be there. Arsenal America and Arsenal NYC will have events going on all weekend. Yankee game on Thursday afternoon, meetup at the Blind Pig and O'Hanlons Friday, an event near the stadium on Saturday, and an indoor soccer tournament at Chelsea Piers on Sunday morning.
will arsenal be the away team and therefore wear yellow? trying to decide which jersey to buy and wear, thanks.
No idea what we will be wearing, probably won't find out until a day or so before. I suspect it will be red though, even though NYRB plays in white with red stripes at home.
What time (afternoon or evening) is the blind pig meet up? I'm planning to stay about 3 blocks from there. It will help me decide what time to get to the city on friday...
We're waiting until we hear what the club has planned before we set a time. I'm hoping they will have an open training session like they did in Japan last year. If they do, the meetup will have to be later on in the evening. Stay tuned.
So, an open training session is probably higher up on the to do list than the blind pig. If that does happen, I'm guessing it would be late morning to early afternoon on Friday, correct?
