who has reggina picked up to make up for the firepower that walked out the door? you all had a fantastic campaign last year and i'd like to see reginna stay up but serie a is a lot more competitive this year. let's keep these beautiful southern teams in italy's top flight.

well joe hopefully amoruso can continue some of his magic. he is officially staying with us until 2010. a big signing for us is cozza. he is a proven leader (as he has been for us in the past) and will make lots happen up front

i mean we had a lot of signings but no one that has really played in the top flight of italy. we signed a slew of south americans. one in particular that can give us some firepower is brazilian striker joelson. he played for albinoleffe the last couple of years and his strike record isn't too great, but there are high expectations for him. everything is just a big question mark but i don't think anyone should write us off

i hate to break the news, but bianchi is replaceable
no one seems to think this and no one is giving us the time of day
we're relegation fodder to every media outlet
we're not even predicted to win our home opener this weekend
    we will show them.

so its finally come to this... the beginning of the season ... we've been written off before we've even started, although, its must be said, we're no stranger to it.

We're beginning this campaign with a host of new faces, inclusive of this are some exciting talents such as midfield anchor Emanuele Cascione, defender Adrian Valdez, forward Jose` Joelson along with Pablo Alvarez, Nicolo` Cherubin, Miguel Garcia, Edgar Barreto, Emil Halfredsson, Leo Pettinari, Jose` Montiel and the reintroduction of Ciccio Cozza.
President Lillo Foti has made it very clear “Noi siamo pronti e ce la metteremo tutta. Abbiamo un unico obiettivo: confermare, ancora una volta, la presenza della Reggina nella massima categoria”

Once again, the sweat will be poured on the pitch, but the 12th man will be the tifosi, who come week in week out to spur the team on and impose a hostile atmosphere for the opposition, the Curva Sud will be up to their old tricks, making the most amount of noise ... this will be the key to aid the team spirit, and coach Ficcadenti knows it "Iniziare il torneo davanti al proprio pubblico è sempre un vantaggio che bisogna sfruttare per riuscire a dare alla nostra gente le soddisfazioni che meritano"

There have been doubts as to whom will begin the match in the starting 11 .... what is certain is that creative forward Montiel will watch the match from stands, with Missiroli pipping him for a spot on the bench .... apparently, despite the friendly matches leading up to the campaign suggesting otherwise, Vigiani is in hot pursuit of taking that final attacking trident spot from Joelson ..... where as Lanzaro is likely to sit on the right flank and Valdez occupying the centre defensive role next to Aronica due to the knee injury to Miguel Garcia.

the convocati for this match are Campagnolo, Novakovic, Lanzaro, Aronica, Valdez, Cherubin, Alvarez, Modesto, Barreto, Hallfredsson, Cascione, Tognozzi, Vigiani, Missiroli, Cozza, Amoruso, Joelson and Ceravolo.

Until there are a handful of matches under the Reggina belt, we'll never be sure of who will start, but as we all suspect, the formation will be as follows

4-3-3 (although its more likely 4-3-1-2)

    Campagnolo
    Lanzaro, Valdez, Aronica, Modesto
    Barreto, Cascione, Halfredsson*
    Cozza
    Joelson** Amoruso

    *Tognozzi
    ** Vigiani

    ok ok ok ok ok

as i write this, the official lineups have just been announced

the teams are as follows... and looks like i was wrong :p

Reggina: Campagnolo, Lanzaro, Valdez, Aronica, Modesto, Barreto, Cascione, Hallfredsson, Vigiani, Joelson, Amoruso ©. In panchina: Novakovic, Cherubin, Alvarez, Tognozzi, Missiroli, Cozza, Ceravolo. All. Ficcadenti

Vigiani takes the trident spot for Cozza... with Amoruso comming on as captain

    FORZA REGGINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

calciopoli is supposed to have been addressed.... teams were punished, slates were clean.... but turns out that was all bullsh*t.... calciopoli will always be alive, and it will always attack Reggina ..... we played well, we had twice as many shots as those f#cken bergamo c#nts and we went ahead via an Amoruso goal which they dont even want him to have, so they call it an own goal...... but thats not good enough for em... they have to f#ck us every way they can! how the f#ck can these c#nts sleep at night knowing they are purposely f#cking us week after week! f#ck them all to death! i cant wait to see every last one of those lega calcio f#ckers hanging by their necks!

Well it seems we're gonna cop it agen from refs this year. Agen we r denied 2 points from an absolute stupid mistake by Brighi!! Not even the Atalanta players were appealing for a PK!
I was suprised 2 see Cozza not starting. I do like the new-look midfield however. Halfredson and Baretto looked lively and once they adapt to the Italian game, i expect big things! Was strange seeing Reggina wit a back 4. Ever since Colomba, Camolese and Mazzarri we've had a back 3. Im glad we didn't sell Aronica! Him and Valdez will form a good centre-half pairing.
Also great news to see Amoruso and Modesto have extended their contracts with Reggina.
Transfer front:: Mike Tullberg a Danish forward shuld be presented as a Reggina player sometime this week. While Danielle Stuani shuld join the Amaranto in January.

According to Danish site www.bold.dk Reggina has signed 22 year-old central defender Kris Stadsgaard from FC Nordsjælland. Apparently the fee is 11.5 mill. DKR which is roughly 1.5 mill. euro.

I really like this signing! He's still young and hadn't played much in the Danish top flight until this season, but he's been one of the highlights for FC Nordsjælland so far this season. He's a complete defender that has a lot of potential.

Here's the link if you want to take a stab at Danish:

Ok, I think it's a done deal with Mike Tullberg. I just watched the second half of his team's game (where he was mostly unspectacular, if not downright invisible, although he did have one good shot on the post) and after the game he walked around on his own all teary-eyed and thanking the fans and generally looking like he didn't expect to be back anytime soon.
Like I said in the other thread, I'm not really too happy with this (apparent) signing. He's only recently broken into the starting eleven of a team that hasn't been very good lately and I must say I think the money could be better spent.

:\ well i hope it works out
how would you compare him in talent to, say, a nicki nielson when he came over to reggio last year

Well, Tullberg does play for a better club than Nielsen did, but I'd say Nielsen is a bigger talent; he's three years younger than Tullberg and has played for the Danish youth national teams, which Tullberg never did.
With that said, they're quite different types of players and kind of difficult to compare. Let's just hope Tullberg takes his game to another level when he arrives on a bigger stage.

well Kris Stadsgaard has been officially presented as a Reggina player and aparently Tullberg isnt that far behind him ..... Stadsgaard is a 22 year old defender.... we have Aronica, Valdez, Alvarez that sit in the centre along with Lanzaro and Cherubin that can play in the centre or on the wing and ofcourse Modesto and Garcia as fulltime flankmen, so the likelyhood of Stadsgaard being in the lineup, or indeed in the panchina is low... perhaps he'll follow Nielsen and Castiglia to C1 with Martina ... after all, over the years we've seen quite alot of young talents purchased for the sole purpose of being loaned out to lesser clubs in a sort of apprenticeship before gracing the Granillo .....

as for Tullberg, we've got Amoruso, Joelson and Ceravolo as forwards with Cozza, Vigiani and Montiel as our other attacking players.... it seems that our attacking contingent will be overcrowded .... although yes, Nielsen remained with us last season, he spent quite abit of time with the primavera squad, also keeping in mind that his competition for a place in the first squad wasnt nearly as crowded with Amoruso, Bianchi, Leon and Rios at the beginning of the season and then Amoruso, Bianchi, Foggia and Vigiani at the end of the season (although Vigiani also played on the wing when Mesto was out) ............ however, Tullberg, as you said, is 3 years older than Nielsen, so he wont play for the Primavera .... will he be loaned out? perhaps...... or maybe Ceravolo may be loaned out depending who shows more promise by the January window.

i could be wrong altogether.... another situation is what we've seen in the past.... we hailed the likes of Massimo Ganci (2004/2005) and Simone Cavalli (2005/2006) as goal hero's.... but then they amount to very little and we loan them out midseason whilst keeping the younger players...... could this be the case with Joelson ???

we've got the coppa Italia clash tonight/ tommorow morning with Piacenza.... maybe Stadsgaard will make an appearence.....

anyway, welcome to Reggio Stadsgaard and Tullberg!
