Every off season it's the same shit, rumors about good players and then Vergara ends up signing crappy 30+ year old players who are past their prime. The fans of this club have gone from praying for another title to praying that the team get relegated, how the mighty have fallen, thanks again Vergaragelica.
This was longer than expected........... We need 3 players(in order of importance): 1 RB, 1 CM, 1 Top Attacking-mid. RB-This needs to be an upgrade over Vidrio. There are 3 main candidates to this position IMO. 1. Chavez(C.Azul): Would provide attack and a goal-scoring threat. The fullback Ponce pretends to be(he actually tracks back). 2. G.Flores(C.Azul): He was very good before Chepo ruined him. Strong in the air & better defensively than Chavez. 3. Ibanez(Santos): Still very young(recently turned 22) he's been replaced by Abella on the right. I've mentioned him every other transfer window. Still think he has a lot of potential. The first two could easily happen if Chivas swaps Barrera+Chavez/Flores for Marco Fabian. CM- This area shouldn't need attention, but with Chaton constantly getting injured it need to be addressed. Ideally it should be a mid that offers a goal threat down the middle. 1. Cabrera: Doesn't offer the goal threat of the others on the list, but is probably the most complete midfielder on this list. Don't think Pumas is willing to sell. 2. E.Andrade: Another one Chivas keeps missing out on; he was supposed to start at Pachuca before De Buen proved his quality. He could play further up the pitch as well(As a winger/attacking mid) 3. "Recodo" Valdez: He's being underestimated around here. Offers Cabrera's passing without his workrate/defensive contributions. I'm glad Chivas might be in for him, but definitely not for Carlos Fierro. 4. J.Dos Santos: Would be higher on the list than Cabrera if there weren't so many questions about his commitment to football. He's good enough(technique/ability wise) to start for the NT, but would he be willing to come to Mexico? Is he even willing to leave the Barca bench to begin with? Attacking Mid: 1. L.Montes: Brizuela might become better in the next 2-3 years but Montes is the best right now. My only concern is if he'll be able to keep up his form coming into the next tournament. 4 good tournaments in a row is unlikely. 2. Barrera: He's a gamble, but he could pay off big. If Marco Fabian stays at C.Azul he'll probably be bench player again. No reason he can't be as good as he used to be. Probably our most realistic target. 3. Elias Hernandez: Only reason he isn't listed higher is because he's prone to disappear in games. He is a poor man's Vela, but that is not a bad thing. Players out: Vidrio: I'll be the first to admit that I thought he'd make it here. He is definitely not the Vidrio that played at the Olympics. He's a bad CB and a mediocre RB. Tepa Solis: It's Tepa Solis. Tepa. Solis. What else needs to be said? Alvarez: He has some raw talent, but he hasn't improved since his debut. He's been given plenty of starts and every chance to do otherwise. Perales is actually better than him now(based on Copa Mx games), I could see why Van Schip benched him. Hugo Hernandez: Rodriguez is better, but Hugo deserves to start in First division. Even if it costs us a few points every now and then. >_> Julio Gomez: Not a bad player, but his best position(behind the striker) is filled with better players. Fierro/Gio Casillas/Chofis Lopez are all better. Bravo: May be controversial with some, but I feel he hasn't gotten along with certain key players. I'd prefer a Aldo/Lugo/Cubo as our strikers next tournament. He'd be a great squad player if he could accept that role, but he will not. DO NOT WANT: Hugo Rodriguez/Miguel Herrera/etc: These are average CB, no better than Araujo/Pereira. If they're going to bring another CB to start he needs to be significantly better. Mier is the only one who fits the bill. Reyna: I wanted him before, but by now it's pretty clear he is a problem in the locker room. If we wanted to deal with off-the-field issues I'd rather convince Marco Fabian to come back to Chivas for another season. Any striker who isn't Peralta/Pulido: Obviously Peralta isn't an option anymore, but while players like "Chuletita" Orozco are good we don't need them. Aldo/Lugo/Cubo should produce similar numbers. Especially Aldo Denigris; lets not forget he was an NT regular less than a year ago. There's no reason he can't score 10+ goals next season......if we actually create enough chances.
