Ugh! First, he tried to reassure the fan base by strongly denying the allegations. Now, he is still trying to be reassuring, but just to say that they are after others, not him, and they had to arrest him to talk to him (can that be true?)

    FTA:
    ******************
He said: 'We all helped the police with their enquiries, but it doesn't directly concern me, it's other people involved.

'I've been answering questions to help the police. I am not directly concerned with their enquiries.'

Redknapp confirmed that he had been arrested and said: 'They have to arrest you to talk to you, for you to be in the police station. I think that's the end of it, it didn't directly concern me.'

Redknapp confirmed that as well as himself, Milan Mandaric and Peter Storrie were also arrested today.

Speaking outside the police station, Paul Martin, the solicitor representing Redknapp and Storrie, had stressed the pair were co-operating with detectives.

'They have been assisting the police with enquiries,' he said.

'The enquiries do not relate to either of those individuals, they relate to entirely different individuals.

'They are ongoing investigations in relation to those other individuals, and for that reason they are unable to comment further, and there is nothing that they can discuss.*

It's getting harder to believe him now, but I hope he is right and telling the truth. He's a brilliant manager and if they are really after Harry and the Pompey, say goodbye to the Premiership.

I'd be curious to see what the regular posters on the Pompey board have to say about this. Not so much interested in the kind of crap being spewed by people like the above poster, who will just breeze in here to get their bashes in.

from what I hear, he is just being questioned over some transfer of some player (Amdy Faye of Glasgow Rangers and his agent Willie McKay) and has not been charged, he has hit out the way police have conducted the investigation (the tabloids were there questioning his wife even before he was arrested). Now there is a possibility of the club being charged as the transfer may have been 'irregular' and there may even be point deductions.
