Yeah. Okay, you want to start fresh, but then why recycle a WUSA-era name? But maybe it's only us old geezers who even remember those days.

 

the objections of the three people who remember the San Diego Spirit have, I'm sure, been noted. What about the St. Louis Spirit (ABA)?

We have a team again!!! And it's not named for a fraudulent appliance!! Go Spirit!!

 

Even better, they were the "Spirits of St. Louis".

 

...gosh guys, you almost made me feel like a failure as a St. Louis soccer fan for not knowing that team. Instead, TIL St. Louis once had a pro basketball team. X-D

 

Beat me to it. I had to look up the name it's been so long. And I live in San Diego.
