Beautiful! Love these colors and I see absolutely no reason on why we can't go back to red!

Maybe because Toronto, Chicago, RSL, Dallas, Chivas, and to an extent Portland, feature red as their main or secondary kit color? Not to mention New England, NY, feature red, and how many of those have some sort of red and blue combination?

I'd love to see it as a third kit, however.

I hear rumors that this might be the inspiration for our 3rd kit next year...

a crest update. so money spent on focus groups that isn't being spent on improving the team.

    How about no.

Hah, we not only don't know if the FO is really working on a crest update, for which we go ahead and flog away anyway, now we some people criticizing them for supposedly having customer focus groups while others criticize for not having customer focus groups. Sucks to be them!

Several reliable sources have said that the FO is doing so, and Dave Kaval didn't deny it when questioned about it by Earthshaker, as the latter reported as recently as today.

I think the reports that the FO is working on a crest update are far more reliable and accurate than the fiction previously promulgated that the FO is conducting a "comprehensive international search" for a new coach, guided by defining a clear style of play.

And I think the proof is that we will see a new crest before we see a new head coach (or a style of play clearly defined in writing.)

Well good, at least they may be working on one thing that needs work. The current crest is awful.

I agree, since he didn't flat out say no change to the crest my guess is that something could be in the works. If they do make a change they probably want to unveil it with the new jersey coming out.

Beautiful, I like it. Good to have two soccer balls to cancel out and then one up the baseball bat - so people know what sport it is. But the nod to Oakland A's heritage is genius. It's kind of a broadening of the "sporting club" concept like "Sporting KC", where it can represent more than one sport - sort of a sports brand. Kudos to the designers.

Put "San" on the top and "Jose" on the bottom, make the baseball a soccer ball, and I like it!

I think it needs a goofy mascot / caricature face peering over the top. Otherwise, looks good.

Given that if indeed we are rebranding, the decision to do so was probably made last offseason, because a rebrand cycle in professional or college sports is somewhere in the 16-24 month range from start to finish. There'd be a new crest if Yallop had taken us to back to back Supporters Shields and the timing would be the same if we hired Bob Bradley on November first. It's proof of absolutely nothing.
