One of my son's first games he was AR for me. I couldn't figure out what the heck he was signalling so I went to see. He was swatting bugs with the flag.
Extremely boring game that the CR and I agreed to help prior to the U18 Boys State Cup quarter. Whenever I was the trial AR and the middle would look at me I would signal PK and nod my head in different directions. Thankfully he did not pay the favor that next game when I was in the middle.
The league where I got my lisence back in 2013 had this system where it was auto assign , all the more experienced referees could see the schedule months in advance where as I could only see the weekend coming up... That being said I could only pick up AR assignments but that's what got me into loving refereeing. So I never look at it as oh I'm AR boohoo. I actually enjoy it, I always look forward to having the best seat in the house to watch the center ;-) btw hello to all! I am new to this site but love all the interesting things I read.
