Hi lads. Went to my first MLS game yesterday--used to watch football every week growing up in London (hence the name--go Crystal Palace USA!) but in 15 years of living in the States I've been to just one soccer game (perhaps it was because it was that US 2 England 0 game in Foxborough back in the early 90s!) Anyway I thought I'd give my views on the game. I was very low down behind the goal, so I wasn't really able to read the game veyr well, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw--five goals, Galaxy hit the woodwork twice, some nice passing moves. I though nos. 10 and 77 (!) stood out for Salt Lake, while that no. 18 of yours who laid on the third goal looked useful. I thought Cobi looked long gone, to be honest. Great stadium, though I wish there had been more noise. Still these things take time--you have to develop a lifelong relationship to a team so that you live and die with every game--and it was no worse than the Dodgers game I went to last year. Would have been interesting to sit with the fans in the corner, who sang throughout the game--credit to them. I think the future for MLS looks pretty bright based on what I saw--there's some real talent there, and I thought the standard was as high as the English Championship, without the kick and rush stuff (though also without some of the passion). The problem, as far as I can see it, is with the lack of media coverage, The LA Times did no preview and published a cursory report--the one on the Galaxy home page was far better. If 19000 people turn up every week, and if Beckham does come (which i think he will) then the LA media really are letting down a community by not covering the game in more depth.

Hopefully they will decide to put on G's kits with Xman on the back.

you being an America should get more america fans or have the supporters group show up i mean its not like america comes to LA all the time. Thats what happened in Houston A bunch of America fans that support the local team. you guys could team up with the new supporters group and be huge.

Welcome aboard. please go to more games. It does get better and the Galaxy will get better. We're getting our starters back from injury, soon back from the Gold Cup. And just remember, that game was pitting basically the 2 worst teams in the league together. [Galaxy won't have that description for much longer, though!!] As has been suggested: go to a Galaxy vs. Chivas USA game. wonderful stuff.

That's the Riot Squad, and they would be quite happy to have you join them.

Just buy a ticket in section 138 and introduce yourself, there's no membership, or dues, or anything else, just a bunch of fans out to have a good time and cheer on the G's.

I definitely did not exagerate his actions. If you go to the game on Saturday, just keep an eye out if he's benched again. I HOPE someone grabbed him by that ridiculous dye job on his head and shook him a few times!
