I really think we need to stop saying that the club paid 100m euros for Bale. It simply isn't true and also helps paint other high profile transfers (*hint* *cough* Neymar *cough* *hint*) in a better light than they should be.

According to what we know so far:

1. Real Madrid paid 91m euros to secure the rights of Bale + 50% of his image rights, when he had three years of his contract remaining with Tottenham.
2. Since Bale's image rights can be estimated to be worth approximately 10m euros per year, Real's share of that will be 30m euros. Most other clubs do not earn a percentage of player's image rights. Therefore the net spend here can be estimated at 61m euros if looking at the player alone and not including his image rights.
3. Barcelona paid 86.2m euros to secure the rights of Neymar + 0% of his image rights, when he was in the last year of his contract with Santos.

 

No isco again well this is looking likely that he might leave in the summer.

 

I doubt it.

If anything if Ancelotti fails to win a trophy this season pals of Florentino or not he will most likely leave in the summer.

Watching Neymar's contract stituation force Barca to eat the shitty rhetoric they've spewed over the last few years in particular has bought me joy in the form of deep belly laughter over the past few weeks but let's be real that 86.2ME includes various add-ons, concessions etc. I'd bet dollars to donuts we have the same "extras" in tandem with Bale's contract as well. We don't know the exact figures yet anyway, that 91 ME just an educated guess until we see the annual reports. We could have paid well in excess of 100 ME for him by the time all is said and done. But what we paid for Bale isn't the point, it was never the point, the self-righteous,shameless hypocrisy Barca engaged in to secure the Brazilian's services is the issue at hand.
