Hey man. Sorry I haven't posted here for a REALLY long time. My hard disk crashed a few days after the last post and I was really upset about it seeing how much I enjoyed the game.

It was challenging because I put myself as a unexperinced player and the players had little to no faith in me. All their morale were poor and it was a great challenge to try to win the game. It's a pity I couldn't continue.

To those who are still reading, or are intrested, I might do one in the future on FM2008 if it ever comes out. But right now, this thread is as good as dead. Thank you to the people who have supported me. It was a very short season but I really enjoyed it.

This is a great game, a few suggestions though for rhexis:

    1. get Marcelo, he's really good in the game, have him tutored by Roberto Carlos, and he'll be the next Roberto Carlos :)
    2. Mata for me, with proper training and tutoring is starting to threaten Reyes' starting spot :D
    3. buy Renato Augusto (a.k.a. the next Ronaldinho) to succeed Beckham/ Guti, while he's still cheap, not EU though. :(
    4. If you can afford not to sell Beckham, cause he's unmatched at set pieces and free kicks.

I'm in my 2nd season now (7.0.2) and the board gave me a 60M Euro transfer kitty after winning the UEFA Cup <--- I sucked in my first season (due to my RL inexperience), finished group 3rd in CL with bad luck and finished 5th in La Liga.

But now I'm currently 1st in the League after 10 games, (8-0-2, 18GD+).
    My lineup:
    ----------------Casillas--------------

    Cicinho----Ramos----Metzelder----Marcelo

    ----------------Diarra----------------

    -----------------Guti-----------------

    Robinho----------------------------Reyes

    ---Van Nistelrooy-------Raul (c)-------

    squad:
    Diego Lopez
    Cannavaro
    Alexis
    Diogo
    Gago
Emerson <--- no one wants to buy him
    Mata
    Borja Valero
    Beckham
    Renato Augusto
    Higuain
    Soldado

out on loan: Cassano, Salgado, Pablo Garcia, Torres, Mejia, Bravo
    sold: Helguera, Pavon

I actually have a game in the 3rd season already and doing fantastic, but it gets really boring now.

    My lineup is

    Ratinho - Ramos - Alexis - Marcelo
    --------------Gago--------------
    Navas---------------------Reyes
    --------------Alex/Fabregas-----
    ------Robinho--------Higuian----

Yeap. Ripping through la liga with them. But I no longer play it anymore. :(

I think its my 7th or 8th season now. Robinho is 28 or something.

Try playing with a smaller club, preferably a team you have some knowledge of, that actually makes you want to make them better. I actually enjoy playing more with my smaller team than with Madrid, expectations are lower and getting results is harder. I'm like a Dutch league version of Schuster in my current game. :D You'll have to find players from a completely different pool than you would with Madrid.....where I basically buy the same players over and over again.

When I get bored with that one, I'll start a game with a Spanish team in the 2b and try to get them to the top....or as close as I can.

^ Yeah I usually play with Malaga and try to get them the CL. It's feasible within 6-8 seasons. It used to be easier, but now Malaga is a second division team, it is in big financial trouble and its best players (ie cash cows) are loaned out because the club can't afford their salaries. It's really tough to take it from there, specially in the first season when the roster is undermanned to begin with and it needs a lot of stuff to make it back to La Liga.

Well, it's kind of easier with a small Dutch club. I'm playing with The Hague (relegation candidate) and I can get around 4-6 million if I sell all the players I don't need (everybody but 5 players :D ) with which I can go shopping all around the world since there's no non-EU limit. And non-EU is generally where all the cheaper but still good players are who would want to play for my team.

Another plus is that playing with teams like these.....it helps you find good players for Castilla if you decide to play with Madrid again. Dennis Boskailo is a good cheap EU defender for the B team if he plays good in the Dutch league, and he does.
