0-1 HT Busquets on a header that Casto could do nothing about because that ball was headed to the top corner post not by luck but by a well placed header!

Final Score 2-2 as Ruben Castro scores a brace in a couple of minutes in the second half and Keita scores on a header late in injury time. Castro now has 16 goals and if I am not mistaken is the second highest Spanish goal scorer after Soldado's 17 and tied with Llorente. Here is the match review:

Who would have thought that in the last game of the season that Pepe Mel would not be wearing a tie, the players playing relaxed and the fans having a great time. Next year Europe has to be the target for Er Glorioso! Guess it's time to work on the tan at the links and beaches in southern Spain!!

Benat was selected for the NT today leading up to the two friendlies this month. Del Bosque will announce the final team selection on 27 May but at least Benat will be able to train with the big boys in hopes that he makes the Euro 2012 team this time or after the Euro in preparation for WC 2014 qualification. As a side note he is the first Betico called up since Juanito played on the Euro 2008 team. And I do believe that in one NT match in 2002 Betis had 3 players called up for that squad: Juanito, Joaquin, Capi, and they all were on the pitch at the same time in one of Spain's friendlies in 2002-03.

The 2011-12 Betis season is coming to a close as the players have no more practices lined up and once the last friendly match is played on Thursday they will begin their vacation and will return to Sevilla on 5 July 2012. I guess with that I can go ahead and close down the site and start a new one for the upcoming season on Friday.
