And 5th is number of goals scored. There is big upside potential with the offense. The defense seems to be what's keeping the Rapids solidly in the middle of the pack.

Couldn't agree more. Defensively this team seems lost. Fix the defensive issues and you have a solid playoff quality side.

2-1 Rapids - Goals by Rivero and Hill.

Does anyone see us going with Hill over Thompson or Mullan (if healthy) at RM this game?

Seems like Impact are ones to try a complete offensive line-up against.

I think Thompson is a better defender than Hill or Mullan. I don't have problem with his insertion. What we really need is a good defensive midfielder with great ball skills...

I think we've been given a glimpse of life without Pablo.

Maybe it's time to give Heneo a shot.

So from these posts I guess everyone is in favor of a defensive RM?

I would much rather see Hill there and see what having a game with our 2 best passers on field would be like.

What I meant with my comment and how it should have read was

If the alternative is Wells, Maybe it's time to give Heneo a shot.

I think it is more we have realized that for some reason OP likes to have a more defensive midfielder on the right. If that is the case then I guess Wells is the choice if Mullan can't go. Depending on Henao's skills, maybe he would be an option too.

My PREFERENCE would be Hill on the right if Mullan is still injured.

Rapids just announced that Casey suffered a Grade I hamstring strain against KC and is doubtful for Saturday.

    Cascio - Hill
    Rivero - Castrillon - Ginger - Wells
    Freeman - Marshall - Moor - Koz
    Pickens

Tough one for the pact were good in scoring first but horrible in putting team away until we get a descent forward up front hence the arrival of divaio rapids should put us away a clean 2-0

Looks like Hill might be starting up top.

Really don't understand the Defensive RM, there are maybe 5-6 legit attacking threats in MLS from LS, that would warrant extra defensive help. Maybe I am not paying attention enough because I didn't see Mullan sliding into a more central D role. I just have no answer for why OP goes with this, given new talent we have and his professed style of play.

No way on earth is Thompson a better defender or player then Mullan.

Probably pretty close to spot-on. I thought Edu might start up top with Hill/Thompson splitting the mid right side. Another possibility is Hill/Edu splitting top (R) and Thompson/Henao at mid right. Everthing else is likely.

Nice of you to say so, but I don't see this as a sure thing with Casey, Cummings, Wynne, and Mullan out. I can't make it to the game but I'll be following on the iPhone or online somewhere.

Interesting numbers above re: shots and scoring. What would this team be if they played the 1st half of the games?
Liked what little I saw of Edu in the last game; we should see more Sat. with Casey out.
Will we get to see Henao?

We must get these 3 points if we are going to stay in contention for playoffs. We can't continue to lose (Philly before) to bottom dwellers of East.

If Edu is 60-90' fit to start, our personnel issues for this game are covered by going to a 4-3-3:

    ------------Edu------------
    Cascio---------------Hill
    ------Rivero----------------
    ---------------Castrillon---
    ---------Big Red-----------

If we have the lead, then sub in Henao/Thompson (for Edu) and revert to the diamond midfield.
If we don't have the lead, then Akpan is the lone forward sub, and possibly Zapata at LWM if he doesn't start at LB. (He probably should start, he's our best LB, and we'll need him to cover box to box if it's a 4-3-3).

Hill went the full 90 in the reserve game today. I wonder how that bodes for him starting on Saturday?Zapata also played 90, same question.
