I would think one would have to include the puppetry of Steve Nicol (of the N.E. Revolution), when it comes to picking talent at the Draft. Clint Dempsey Andy Dorman They have also selected: Twellman Shalrie Joesph
Without looking it up - I think (believe it or not) Fernando is credited with drafting some of those guys. Nicol took over that team. And more directly, John Murphy gets the credit for the draft when he was the assistant under FC in NE.
New England took Twellman and Joseph with their first two picks in 02. Clavijo would've been in charge then.
I have little doubt about Clavijo and Murphy's drafting abilities. They both have picked winners in New England. I still content that the more picks you have early, the better chance of success the draft.
