I was just telling the other season ticket holder where I teach that I figured the Rapids were going to be signing him soon. He seems to get time in every reserve match and he traveled with the team to Cali in the preseason.

Having seen him in HS a couple of times, he reminds me a lot of JL, both in stature and style of play. How would it work to add him to the roster now? Would someone have to go? or would he not count the same since he is a home-grown player?

He won't count against the salary cap if he signs, but he would take up one of the 30 roster spots. We're at 31 rostered players right now (Wallace on season-ending IR doesn't count towards the 30) so somebody would have to go unless there's another season-ending injury. Probably one of the 10 reserve players at 44K/34K.

James Rogers was called up to the U-20 Nats by Tab Ramos.

Watch the Rapids U-18's and some of the Rapids U-16's game today. We definitely have talent down there. I just have to say, Dillon Serna is an absolute gifted player.

The referring on the other hand is atrocious. The U-18's played a full half with a man up. It was a very physical game, with some great goalkeeping from the St Louis club.

Nice, Will cause another Roster Casualty but if he can provide more CB depth, the better.

Yeah, he seems completely buried on bench now. Maybe we can trade him for something useful (International slot/ Allocation$)

A new Academy name (to me at least) appears in today's reserve game report. Idrissa Camara subbed in for the last 12 minutes.

Avery Ball was also on the unused subs list.

There's an interview with O'Neil up on the Rapids website. In it they ask about if he's interested in playing for the USMNT, and he said he'd prefer Ireland. I know he has an Irish last name, but so do millions of other people in the US. How does he qualify for ireland? (even though it very likely won't happen)

He was born in Ireland. His family owns Connor O'Niell's pub in Boulder. I have forgotten at what age he was when the family moved to the Boulder area.
