Man, Boyd does have good instincts. If he had cleaner hold up play he would still be with Dortmund right now, I think. I hope he really works on that in Austria.
Well, here is the whole sequence with the attempt and the successful one from Austrian TV that someone in this Rapid Wien Forum linked: The other comments that mention him are basically positive (they aren't very wordy ). Not much that's interesting enough to translate.
For anyone wondering, Terrence's goal yesterday did not make the Sportscenter top 10, even though Rooney's similar goal was best of the best for like 3 months and Boyd attempted 2 bikes within 30 seconds of each other. In unrelated news, I will never be watching Sportscenter again.
No, but they ask for tweets with the top plays from the day previously, and tons of people tweeted for Boyd's goal to make the list. Many even posted a youtube link.
Looks like a piece on Boyd along with some tactical analysis on how he'll fit in at Rapid. Could a German speaker give us a translation, or possibly the main points of the article? Rapid: Der Boyd-Faktor und seine Folgen
2 things: 1)Can players please stop taking their shirts off after goals? Well actually can we get rid of the silly rule that it's a yellow card. 2) Has "Seven Nation Army" surpassed Queen, Blur, and Gary Glitter as THE Jock-Jam?
Nobody surpasses Queen. They are merely allowed to stand on the podium with them. That said, I love me some "Seven Nation Army"... gonna go listen to a playlist of exactly those songs right now
Rooney is one of the most notable players in the world, and scored a bike to win against his club's biggest rivals in a battle for first place...This was a friendly. Not discounting Boyd's great goal, but maybe temper your expectations of ESPN a bit..I wouldn't doubt that none of their sportscasters even know who boyd is yet
This makes him ein Wiener, but not Wiener. I've been told this is an important difference, but maybe the German speakers were playing a joke on me. I don't get their humor...
Chill man. That was an amazing, amazing goal. Worth taking the shirt off for. It was a friendly, so who cares if you get a card. I would prolly kiss the girl in the front row had I scored something so amazing.
I'm not angry lol. I just think it's a stupid thing to do given the utterly ridiculous rule. I know this was a friendly, I'm just broadening to all games. What if Balotelli gets a 2nd yellow against Germany for doing something stupid (i know you're all thinking that would never happen ) There was way too much time in that game for him to do something like that. Once again, I think the rule is stupid, I couldn't care less that player do it in celebration.
