Thanks Vince and co, I like the idea of the dance classes because I admittedly get on with girls in person often more than guys (Australian guys just always seem to have something to prove), I miss Uni a bit for that.

Had my relationship break down with my girlfriend of 4 and a bit years, most of the friends we had I knew through her, so when work offered me the chance to move to Brisbane (Nicer(warmer) climate, but more bogan place) bumping my Salary from 60k to 74k I jumped, Then got here and regretted it a bit when I realised I had shit all to do but listen to records, (I work with very typical IT types).

I'm currently looking at courses for French Lessons (did it all the way through High school with exams ect., so shouldn't be too hard to get going again) and trying to find some other courses.

I was being sarcastic.....

Either way, there's some Short courses run at a local university close to where I am (including various dance classes).

I guess my current job description would be systems analyst, at the moment my contract is tied to a company involved in the mining industry. It's not exactly as exciting as what I was doing before (lots of short term projects, more involved in the development side compared to now (was nice having the data collection done for you and just being told what to do)) but it's nice and secure and pays well so I can't complain. I sort of like these positions since they don't seem to expect much in the way of communication skills from their IT department, so it's always pleasant to at least exceed their expectations in one way..

Ah good to know........I work in a similiar role....However I am involved in the development phase to...So its more of a System Analyst cum Programmer....Been working on the same project for 2 years now.....

On a serious note... I make friends by talking to people. It sounds weird I know, but at the bar or shopping etc. I even have friends I talk to today that I met at the airport. A girl who lives in Philly who I crash by sometimes when I'm in that part of the world and a neurosurgeon from Brazil with whom I watched a shit ton of football at an airport bar.

One day you will be found in a canal with your bank account empty.

Perhaps. And the 6 randoms I spoke to in the hours before my attack will remember something about me when the police question them.


But in my experience, people who take the time to find out more about the people around them tend to find they have more things in common or that people exceed their expectations for kindness and friendliness. Not everyone you talk to will be nice. In fact, you'll probably talk to some idiots and assholes. However, I'd much rather KNOW that person x is an idiot or an asshole should I ever need someone's help.

The only reason I recognized that is because I pyong-ed it so much my freshman year in highschool. It's basically calcified in my brain.

I applied for 15 banking jobs today. I feel so dirty
