Been playing Hitman: Absolution. It's absolutely fantastic. I'm surprised a lot of the early reviews were so mixed, but it seems to have gotten a lot more love in more recent articles. Currently halfway through The Saints mission, which is a lot of fun.
i wanted to like the hitman games but they were so buggy and glitchy with enemies knowing u were in disguise too easily etc is this one better?
I've heard good things about the new Hitman game. I was a big fan of Dishonored, and I hear that it has that same choose the way you wish to progress approach. Sneaky, all out carnage or a mixture of both. I'll probably get it next week.
It does, though the visual style of Dishonored is quite different. I've been going for silent assassin rating for each of my missions, some are easier to pull off than others. I probably had to play through the Sanchez mission a dozen times before I managed it, even though I figured out the right path to success on the third try or so. In the final 8-9 attempts something always threw a wrench in my plans.
It's different from the previous generations of these games, but it still keeps the core gameplay intact. The main differences are a much better cover system and a lot more opportunities to use the environment to your advantage. But some old Hitman mainstays return here: the Silverballers and the fiber wire.
Almost done with Hitman. I was surprised to find that the Saints mission was so easy. It's probably the easiest mission by some distance to get the silent assassin rating on.
Finished Hitman Absolution. Enjoyed it very much. The weird thing was that the latter half of the game felt a lot easier than the first half. The Epilogue level was absurdly easy for some reason.
Now that I'm done with Hitman, I think I'll give Far Cry 3 a try. Anyone want to share his or her experiences with that game? I've heard it likened to GTA and The Saboteur (two games/series I have liked).
So anyone pick up a Wii U? I got one, along with New Super Mario Bros U, and so far I'm pretty meh on it. The kids love playing with it, especially since you can play the game right on the game pad without using the tv, but the thing just doesn't impress me.
i know next to nothing about it, which is pretty amazing to me. admittedly, i don't have my head buried in tech and gadgets and video games like i used to, but i still play games and am not completely out of the loop. still, for a new console, there is zero buzz in my group of friends, and most of them are the target audience for this type of thing.
Not sure if I am sold on the game yet, I dig everything except having to craft bigger bags so I can carry more ammo/medicine. The opening is quite good though. I would have played more of it but instead started up and got hooked on Forza:Horizon.
I don't mind the crafting that much, if you occupy yourself with it for an hour you can collect most of the materials you need to upgrade your tools to the second best type. All of the stuff I now need is the specialized stuff you only get as reward for special missions.
Been enjoying Far Cry 3 a lot, though I have to say that after a while overtaking Pirate compounds gets a bit repetitive.
Bought a playstation vita this past weekend, some say the price is a bit steep but I think it's worth the price tag.Really is an amazing piece of hardware.
Still very much busy with Far Cry 3, but I am considering Assassin's Creed III after this. I did have one question, I never finished Revelations (sold my copy before playing through the entire campaign), do you need to know all of the events of Revelations to make sense of the story in ACIII?
This years Xbox Countdown to the New Year sale is looking really good so far. Most of the arcade game deals; 50% off or better, is great and I picked up Bully for $10. I was really hoping yesterday's Lego game sale would have had Harry Potter 5-8.
I have hitman and I think it's good. Don't know if I can be parsed to get a silent assasin rating on all levels but I want decent scores....I am on the hotel level which I did in a rowdy manor so I will go back and try and be more technical lol any advice?
they had a pricing mistake on their bethesda bundle. it included the elder scrolls 3, 4, and 5... fallout 3 and new vegas, dishonored, all the brinks, all the quakes, rage, doom3, and a few others. i think it was supposed to be priced at around $90, but it was listed at something like $28 (it's normally over $300). they eventually got it fixed, but not until the next morning. by that time, they'd run out of key codes for people to activate their games... so if you bought the pack and got it to go through (it was taking people multiple hours of waiting and hitting refresh over and over just to get from one page to the next), but didn't get all the codes for your games, then you'll now have to wait until mid-january when they get more. what's classic about it is that some of these "customers" that are having to wait for their keys are upset and complaining about it. waaaaaah, i got a whole catalog of games for cheaper than the sale price of one individual game in the pack ... BUT I WANT IT ALL NOW!!! EDIT: also and unrelated to the above ... i have no idea what these games are or if it's worth it, but i saw a link to sony's facebook where if you 'like' them, you can get up to 4 free games (i assume on the ps network). i don't do facebook, so i can't comment on it myself, but i thought someone might be interested. https://www.facebook.com/SonyPlaystation?sk=app_538718762805824
Done with Farcry 3. I enjoyed it but it's not likely I will revisit it soon. The gameplay is enjoyable, but by the time you finish the campaign (and all side-missions and challenges), you will start to find some aspects of it tedious. I managed to collect all the letters and datacards, but fell 15 short for the relics. Couldn't be bothered with those after the campaign ended.
Not sure if you have already started ACIII yet, but I just finished Revelations tonight. I plan on getting ACIII here shortly. If you are a fan of the mythology of the series, the deeper story that goes beyond just the killing around the surface, then I suggest you play it to keep the story arc unbroken. I have avoided even trailers for ACIII, much less spoilers, but I can't imagine the full effect of the game getting by having skipped one of the series. I like the end of the games where the story causes you to just sit back and wonder... Revelations was a worthy game, I completely enjoyed it... it may be my favorite one so far...
Thing is, I already sold my copy of the game again... Oops... For some reason the story in Revelations never gripped me. I think I got around halfway through the story.
Santa done did bring me a copy of Forza Horizon, and thankfully got my multiple hints to take advantage of the Black Friday deals at the Microsoft online store ... only $15 yo. Should have a chance to delve into it later today.
