One little nitpick about The Musketeers: The actors playing d'Artagnan and Constance have zero chemistry, which is a bit of a problem.
My daughter has NOT enjoyed the third season of Sherlock at all. Although she's 17 and extremely mature, she is just now hitting adolescence in some regards, esp in her love for all things Martin Freeman. And this season is not showcasing Freeman and Cumberbatch too well. She blames The Hobbit....
I didn't enjoy the first two episodes. I think they were guilty in over-egging them to an extent which ruined my enjoyment of them somewhat. However, I did enjoy the season finale. Lars Mikkelsen was easily the best 'baddie' since Moriarty.
The 2nd series of Line of Duty (6 episodes long) finished last night. Enjoyed every minute of it. Without giving too much away it didn't go out with a bang, that's just not Line of Duty's style, but it was extremely satisfying and is set up perfectly for a third series. Nothing has been officially confirmed regarding that yet but the buzz is it will definitely happen. http://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/mar/19/line-of-duty-third-series-bbc2 On another note, I noticed @Crimen y Castigo had mentioned on another thread about best female police officers and DI Lindsay Denton (Keeley Hawes) is an absolute must for the list.
I think the Sherlock shows were 1/2 hour too long. Just too much rambling on. Lars Mikkelsen good baddie better than Moriarty IMO.
The much underrated John Simm will be starring in a new drama on ITV called Prey. Simm will play the part of Marcus Farrow a cop turned fugitive on the run. Simm will also be returning to the BBC later this year in the 2nd series of the bleak drama The Village.

The only one I recognize is Broadchurch. It started off well then I was hooked but then got to hate it. It dragged on with all the red herrings and interpersonal relationships. I saw it through but I would never recommend it a all. I do have, winging it's way via Netfix to me "Line of Duty", first episodes. (Your recommendation ) Looking forward to them.
I thoroughly enjoyed Line of Duty. Best thing on British TV by far this year (that was series 2). The first series is just as good and, infact, essential viewing as certain characters reprise their roles in series 2. I also enjoyed Broadchurch but it hasn't got the same hook to it as Line of Duty. The latter is far more memorable. It's got a lot more meat to it.
I think it may be in reference to programs that are on satellite (Sky etc) only rather than the normal terrestrial TV channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc in the UK).
Season 3 of Call the Midwife hits PBS this weekend. The day that this season hits netflix will be the day that I am home sick.

Line of Duty and Sherlock miss out as they were not broadcast before the cut off point of 1st January 2014. Disappointed there is no sign of anything for Peaky Blinders though and also thought John Simm would have been squeezed in for supporting actor for The Village.
Another new female led 6-part drama started on BBC1 last night. The Crimson Field. I have it on Sky+ so will get around to watching it soon.
Watched the first episode of the 2nd series of The Trip (to Italy) last night. This time Rob Bryden has been asked to do restaurant reviews for The Observer in Italy, hence the title of the new series. The banter between Coogan and Bryden seems so effortless and instant. I have no desire to find out how much material is left on the cutting floor for them to unearth the 30mins of magic that will fill each episode. That would taint it for me. All I know is, they're funny, it's funny and it makes me laugh (out loud). A lot.
I actually enjoyed Bomb Girls, for what it was. I've watched all two seasons and am looking forward to the tv movie that should be out soon. Was sad to hear that it was cancelled. As for UK shows, I really enjoyed Line of Duty, had no idea that they did a second series and now I see that a third and fourth series have been commissioned. I will definitely have to find series 2 somewhere.
My wife and I really enjoyed this show when it aired here on BBC America. Word is that FOX has given the go ahead on an American remake of the series, called Gracepoint. David Tennant has been confirmed to play the lead detective.
Never watched Bomb Girls. I think Val1 may have mentioned it earlier in this thread as well. Line of Duty is turning into a heck of a series. I also enjoyed season 1 but, if anything, I thought season 2 was even better. Keeley Hawes was outstanding in it.
Here's just some of the British shows I've enjoyed over the last few years, in no particular order.... Line of Duty, Law & Order UK (yes, the wife and I like watching it), The Fall, Ashes to Ashes, Life on Mars, Ripper Street, Sherlock and Whitechapel. Speaking of Whitechapel, the last two episodes of series 4 were a little disappointing for me, but I still watched. Anyone know if a new series has been commissioned?
Strangely enough, it's been canned. http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/whitechapel-axed-itv-bosses-show-2801553 Go figure.
Absolutely. On prime time TV (weekdays) in the UK if you're pulling around 5-6mill then you're top of the tree for that evening. Around 4mill would be probably just under 20% which is pretty dame good. EDIT: more like just over, around 21-22%
Watched the first disc of Line of duty last week. I didn't find it bad but it wasn't engaging. I wasn't engrossed. Hoping as you guys say that the 2nd series is better. Just an aside: The last line of the Scott and Bailey series brought out a snort from me. Loosely. Scott and Bailey say to their boss. Lets go and have a drink? She replies, "On duty, what do you think this is "Life on Mars?"
