Well I am not angry. Do not know where to put this. I am in pain.

Saturday I mc and dj at a sweet 16 party. In the middle of the party, in fact right when I mixed in born this way by lady gaga, i noticed that i was experiencing a mild back ache. You know that is fine because I am carrying and carting heavy equipment but i did not have the chance to work out. No drink and no sex.

Today I was working a wedding and again sometime in the middle I started to notice that my right leg was hurting and noticed that I was favoring my left leg.

Normally when I am in the music zone, I have rush of adrenaline and cannot feel shit. However today i was feeling a lot of pain. So after the wedding ceremony ended at midnight, I took a breather and layed down a sofa. My leg and back felt good and I was also talking to guests just for fun.

After laying down for only 5 minutes, I got up like normal but felt excruciating pain. Ok I took 2 steps and my leg was in soo much pain that I collasped. I could not get up. In fact the pain was only subdued when i was laying on my left side and could not move to the right or on my back or stomach.

So, embarrasingly, everyone crowds around me. A hot mexican nurse tried to help but could not due much. So an ambulance was called and I am chilling in the emergency room right now.

My right leg and the lower part of my back is killing me.

The doctor tried to give me vicodin, but I refused because I have some close friends of mine who abuse vicodine, percocet, oxy, etc, so i did not want to get hooked. So I am on ibeprophen, but it helps but not that much.

I really do NOT want to use any pain killers, but •••• I am really tempted to. I mean really tempted to.

shit that sucks man. really sorry to hear that. you know your own body so you know what's best when it comes to substance/substance abuse, but I'd wager that if you are that careful about not even taking it when a doctor prescribes it and if you only take it as prescribed, you'll be fine. Again, you probably know what's best for you. Speedy recovery to you man.

So, I've had a torn MCL for the past 5 or so months. I have also been practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) for about 2.5 years. This is relevant at some point in the following.

Recently, I posted on a BJJ forum that some of the people at my gym can't pass guard properly (something you eventually have to get good at in BJJ). My instructor read this comment. I feel it is important to note that he was born in Canada, and raised in Canada and has a HS education (maybe more).

He took this as "no one at my gym can pass my guard". Now, I am very good at using guard, but I know this is not true and I would never make such a statement.

He asks me on FB (PM) about this. I explain to him what I meant (according to everyone in the know, my response was totally reasonable). His response was "That white belt had your back the other class" (taking someone's back is achieving an extremely dominant position). My response "You made us do a drill where one person starts on the other person's back. That is why he was on my back". His response "funny stuff. you purple belt on *insert forum here* who grade you?" (I am a blue belt IRL). Now, this forum gives grades based on quantity of posts (similar to this forum). I told him this. Seemingly, a person that browses this forum would know this.

Anyways, I decided to just apologize. I know, very Un-Bronaldo, but sometimes you have to bite your tongue.

Since then, he has paired me up with people that outweigh me by 70-100lbs. People that are extremely spazztastic and prone to cause injuries. In fact, one of the people he paired me up with has torn two different people's ACLs in the last 6 months.

My predicament: All the other BJJ gyms in the area are at least 50 minutes away (non traffic), so realistically, 70-80 minutes away. I'm basically ********ed, as I can't continue to train there, and it's hard to drive 80 minutes every day (+ the 50 minutes back).

I may be forced to unleash the wrath of the internet on him, but he has a family and I don't care to ruin their lives. Collateral damage is a bitch.

Sorry I could not thanks you guys back for the warm consideration. I have been in the hospital the since Sunday and I would be back home and posting again by Monday afternoon. So I just met with a nuerosurgeon at 2:50 am, and decided to have surgury today to get metal rods, plates, and screws to fix my back. Crazy how I am only 19 with no prior spinal history and all the sudden I am having these senior citizen type of problems.

So I was scheduling my surgury and pushing it to happen in the late evening. The surgeon is one of them night shift guy. He was wondering why I am ADAMANT why I needed to make surgury in late evening, and I was a lil embarased but became blunt - I wanted to watch MUFC vs Marselle game. Though he did not roll his eyes at me but gave me this dissapointed look and my mom knows my Red Devil obsession and gave me a facepalm. Basically, before he talked to me at 2:50am, he had just performed another major metal rod surgury. He said if he waited til 2:00 pm, he would going some 18 hour shift and my surgury would take hours. He was nice way of saying this, but basically you do not want a tired drowsy spinal nerve sergoen working on my back. One lil screw up or brief loss of concentration
and I am •••••d. I still thought for a second but he is right.

So you've not had any previous injuries or other condition and now you're having all this done? That's odd. I hope everything goes well for you.

    Meh.

I'm just a bit worried one of my team mates will tell the instructor that I said he was illiterate.

Also, my mother cleaned my room. Like you guys know, I clean it regularly, and it looks unorganized to most people, but every object is systematically placed for my convenience.

Now, everything is all over the place. It will never be the same. Ruined my ********ing day.

Anyone here have an Achilles sprain?

I was playing IM basketball today, got a steal on a guy so to get back at me he stepped on the back of my foot. It immediately gave out, I couldn't really plant my foot, had to foul and get out. You know how you can feel your Achilles all the way down the back of your leg? I can't feel mine for a short segment.

I've iced for a while but I cannot flex my foot upwards without pain. I know I haven't torn it, but it hurts like hell.

    That's unfortunate.

Hope you heal up. Hopefully you'll be okay for a couple months of summer.

Yeah, I've been incredibly lucky with injuries in my life, ie I've had none too serious, so I guess it was bound to catch up. In a splint right now, fortunately being at med school has its perks and my ortho prof is gonna try and have the surgery done by Thursday.

I was looking forward to this Warrior Dash thing in North Texas, but I'll have to put it off. Oh well.

Just gonna have to find some good exercises (hopefully) that let me keep burning calories while I'm in this state.
