A little learning is a dang'rous thing; Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring... my grandfather taught me this when i was knee-high to a grasshopper. funny thing is... granddad thought a lot like worms does! when his daughter married an italian, he disowned her! when his second son married a portugee he disowned him! when my dad married an irish girl he was stuck because my dad owned the house he lived in. so he made the best of a bad lot. "well son, at least this one is white".
i brake for principals. c'mon, be a sport, give us a hint. is it the jews? the irish? not the dogs???
As I always said, it's all in The Matrix and Star Troopers. I'm telling you, those gay dog illuminati have a hidden agenda against euthanasia.
is it a gay kitten image? i couldn't get mine to paste either! it's them goddam illuminatis i tell ya!
No! I had not one but two awesome gay+dog+Hollywood images. Not the obvious, moderately offensive ones, either, but totally suitable for work. Either one of them would've been repped at least five times...
This may not be post worthy but I am watching the Chelsea - Basel Europa League Semifinals. It is the 2nd half and behind Petr Cech hung up, is a Dixie flag. Not directly behind but on the right side of the goal. I have seen it twice when a goal kick is taken. WTF!?!?!?
That's pretty strange. There used to be a swiss guy who posted here... He'd come in handy on this one...
Yeah. It was definitely there. Unfortunately, due to spoilers and no [R] in the title, let's say I didn't see it again. I wonder if people knew the connotation in Switzerland. I have seen this before. In Chile. a friend of my cousin painted the Dixie flag on his car. Basically to emulate the Duke of Hazard.
It's not all that uncommon in Germany either. Here's something on the use at FC Bayern Munich: http://www.asc.uw.edu.pl/theamericanist/vol/25/25_129-146.pdf It's also used by people who are into American rock music (especially southern rock), motor cycles and whatever. They might or might not know the connotation, but most likely wouldn't give a shit either way. It's sometimes also used by neo nazis, but I don't think that's that common.
this is the answer. and don't forget truckers. they are in complete ignorance about what this flag means to americans, to them it just means america... or rather their half-baked idealization of it. if someone has the stars and bars on their car or tacked up in the garage, take a look in their living room: they've got johnny hallyday records.
