I don't think so :D but they were defeated yesterday 4 nil by Man City so they are not doing well.

All in the Super Group? There are 28 teams in the U19's and 32 in the U-17's.

the Super Group had many more teams. Top team of each group made it to the 1/4's.

Dallas cup is an established tournament, pretty close to 30 years, lots of changes have occured. My first trip was in the early 80's; my most recent trip was 2006; it's changed. And there was certainly no Super Group on my first trip.

    Quality tournament.
I don't know of another American tournament that would compare to it - certainly nothing in Canada; and given the number of Mexican teams, nothing in Mexico either.

Well there are no 1/4's anymore. Top team and best second go straight to a semi-final. Perhaps they realized that fewer games during the brief period of the tournament means better quality soccer.

According to the Dallas Cup site, the three bracket winners and a wildcard advance to the semis.

To do that, TFCA would have to defeat Manchester City outright tomorrow, because a wildcard spot might be out of the question. They currently have 4 points and are in second place in Bracket A, while the second-place club in Bracket B, Sao Paulo FC have 6 points.

I'd agree with that. A win is a must to get through.

Interesting factoid: according to Wikipedia, there have been two Canadian Dallas Cup Super Group champions, and both were NSL Select teams that won in 1983 and 1984.

    Dorchester Rock (U17)
    Oakville Gunners (U17)
    Woodbridge Strikers (U17)
    Ajax Gunners (U16)
    Lac-St-Louis Lakers (U16)

    Ouch. This isn't good.

If I read this right, Man City beat the TFC Academy lads 3-0 today. Damn.

Hey, they gave it a good run. Can't be disappointed with their performance.
