DC United will take on CD Guadalajara on Tuesday, April 3 for the second leg of the 2007 CONCACAF Champions Cup Semi - Final in Guadalajara, Mexico. Game time is 9:30 ET (8:30 local) on FSC.

DCU and Chivas tied in RFK 1-1 on March 15

The winner of this match will go on to play the winner of the Houston/Pachuca series, which concludes two days later in Pachuca, Mexico. Use this for discussion of that game.

As the big boss guy person sir dude (Anderson and Nobius) are wont to say, no Trolling or Flaming. Take that to the DC boards ;) .....ummm...I mean the World Rivalries Boards....:D

The Mezzanine Lounge will have this game Tuesday night, either in the Blue Room or the Patio, depending on the size of the crowd that shows up. They will have $2.50 You-Call-Its (IIRC) that night.

An interesting little tid bit is that no US team (Club or National) has ever won a game in Mexico....food for thought.

    Now let the games begin.

Go DCU!! Go MLS!! I want my Roasted Goat DC fans have promised me!

I hope we can put on a good show, and at there very least play attractive attacking soccer. (except for Benny who I hope drives Bofo nuts! ;) )
We will figure out a way to get you that goat!

well, i hate chivas i want them to lose but... in estadio jalisco? that's gonna be tough... all those chivas fans and their pride and the US vs MEX feeling, i bet you it's gonna be packed. let's just see how dc handles the pressure from 80,000 screaming chivas. dc might have an advantage though, chivas plays San Luis this saturday, Bofo, Bravo, and Medina just played last night with the national team, they'll play again on saturday and again later on against dc, so... dc might have a chance.

These type of games are great experience for the MLS kids.
I have heard that they are only expecting about 35,000 for the game though, which would be a huge break for us. I am sure that 35k will still be more abusive than an MLS side is used to though.;)

Everyone on DC will instantly fall to the pitch, grab their knees and plead for Medical Attention. That's right, Team Ruiz has entered the Stadium.

All Kiddin' aside, GO DC beat them down in their own house.

Bump....how about a sticky? If not today, than in a day or two? It'll be a great game that's for sure, and as much as I want DC to win, I don't see it happening. I can see them scoring and taking advantage of tired Chivas players but, again, history is against them and Jalesco (sp?) is one of the most hostile/intimidating places to play in N. America....

Reminds me of Rocky IV? :D
We are set up for glory!
    On an side note...
I have to say it feels a bit wierd to have another MLS team supporting DCU. I think Houston supporters may be the first time that it has really happened. Must mean that we aren't winning enough since you showed up. ;)
Good Luck in your leg too.

We support you in the CCC...until we face off in the Final....heck, we might support you in your campaign against the Red Cows just to see them complain and toss around feeble insults (it makes for a funny read :D) but when it comes down to us, you are the enemy ;)

Lets just face it...you guys are well run and we admire that and hope we can have similar qualities. Plus, if you want to beat the best (in anything) you have to respect them. DC fans, consider yourselves warned!

    Fair enough.
Everyone likes seeing those corporate posers (RBNY) get kicked around.
It is the longest standing tradition that MLS has! ;)

    So much is at stake,
Seems our freedom's up against the ropes.
    Does the crowd understand?
Is it east versus west [north versus south]
    or man against man?
    Can any nation stand alone?

I don't think you can say I was really rooting for them last year (putting aside our games against them, where I was obviously rooting for Houston). I've just occasionally shared my history as an LA fan from '96 til Dec. '05 - part of which was hating DC from the very first MLS Cup, btw.

As much as I'd like to see DC win, I don't. Jalisco Stadium, in Mexico, foreign soil, local fans, et cetera ad infinitum et nauseum...

I don't truly care for DC so much as I truly hate those effin' goats. I wish all the best for and good luck to DC on Tuesday.

So, Fred is now cleared to play with DCU but the Washington Post says he will be playing against Chivas on Tues. That can't be right. I thought that all teams had to submit a list of players before the tourney and stick with it until the end, making Fred ineligable......

Well I've always sorta liked Chivas (sorry, Zola), always sorta hated DC, I'd like MLS to get a win but I think Chivas probably will. And I'd rather Dynamo beat Chivas than DC, but only time will tell. All I really care about now is beathing Pac-yucka.

48 hours notice is all they need to get him into the fixture.

Thats strange - according to the regulations on the Concacaf site, it said that everyone needed to be on the roster that was submitted before the tournament started.......good for DCU, but I'm not sure if this is enough to help them get the win.

The good news for DCU is that Chivas really hasn't been playing very well. The Goats are 2-2-1 over their past 5 matches, and have scored 4 goals while allowing 3. But, the bad news is that in the 2 home matches they are 2-0, and have scored 4 goals and allowed 0.

But compare that to how Pachuca has been playing. Over the past month, Pachuca is 5-0, has scored 14 goals and only allowed 2. It would seem that Houston has the much tougher matchup next week (of course, Houston has a 2 goal lead, fortunately)
