Agreed. DC would be crazy to trot him out there - risking further injury and whatnot - just because there is a tight playoff race in play. Hell those happen every year, but there's only one DeRo . . . and so on and so forth.
1. Kinda funny, I actually have an adopted cousin. 2. Apparently a guy that Houston drafted and offered a contract in 2009 is returning to MLS via a weighted lottery; Houston (or Columbus, for that matter) are not participating in the lottery.
New England Revolution: 33.2 percent FC Dallas: 19.7 percent Philadelphia Union: 16.8 percent Real Salt Lake: 9.7 percent Chicago Fire: 7.8 percent New York Red Bulls: 6.1 percent San Jose Earthquakes: 4.6 percent Seattle Sounders: 2.1 percent What? TFC isn't involved? Blasphemy!
You misunderstand. The winner of the lottery gets a chance to go against TFC for the rights as long as they can win 10 consecutive coin tosses against them.
Which is why TFC had to request a change from 5 consecutive coin tosses to 10. They wanted a fighting chance.
The Nowak drama and lawsuit has gotten even more interesting. It seems that he is now charged with "criminal and fraudulent" conduct in profiting from player transactions. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/...com&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Very diplomatic. Get it? They used to be called the Dips? No? Ugh, anyway... I'll be here for another 15 years. But seriously, DeRo has been alarmingly poor by his usual lofty standards this season (though he'd never admit it even if plenty of DC fans would agree) and it will be interesting to see what happens with him going forward. You never root for players to be hurt but I do wonder how he'll bounce back from it and whether he'll justify the price tag next season, whether it's in DC or elsewhere.
Don't have a link, as I am to lazy to go find one, but AEG is up for sale. Not sure how this will effect LA
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/19/aeg-for-sale-anschutz-co-_n_1895548.html People seem more concerned with what the implications are for the Staples Center if you google search the sale
Apparently AEG is only selling their holdings as a package deal. Considering just how much stuff they own in (and out of) LA, basically that puts the Galaxy as some throw in item of any deal struck. It could end up pretty bad deal for Super Club of LA.
as much as i'd love to see LA suck a rotten egg boiled in smegma, that would not be good for the league.
Yeah, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. When the list includes partial ownership of the Lakers, the Staples Center, and the LA Kings, I doubt the buyer is interested in MLS (both LA and 50% stake of the Dynamo). Apparently they own stadiums in Sweden, Australia, and China - that's all in the package. edit - and a bunch of other venues, not just sports.
did I miss-hear that stat? Did they really say that Freddy Adu has played 90 minutes only 12 times over the past 6 years?
