Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Quite an enjoyable game. Watched it after the US-Jamaica game. Made for a fun weekend of soccer.

Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Guido's goal was a moment of brilliance one does not usually see in a player wearing a US jersey.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread What an absolute clusterf*** in New England as the FO kicks their supporters groups out of the Stadium during the Saturday night's game over complaints about language used in their chants. BS Thread: here. Revs facebook wall: here. Firsthand account from a Midnight Riders member:
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread What is Bill going to write about now? Maybe he could take up planking.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Wow! That is something that I don't even imagine our FO would do. The disconnect there b/n fan and suit is something to behold for sure.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread I didn't know they had any fans left in the stadium to complain, other than the supporters groups. I'm sympathetic (you think someone could have warned them first), yet do we *really* need profanity to have fun and chant at games? I've always felt that profanity was the last refuge of the uncreative. Note that I'm *not* talking about the random use as happens with a bad call or bad play but organized, "creative" use. If you have a problem with the former, you need to get a life. That latter? Much of it is funny once. After that it gets old.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Wow the situation in NE is downright ugly it seems. Speaking of franchises that should be sold and relocated I'm thinking we have a definite prospect. It's pretty obvious that the Kraft's don't have a clue as to how to handle SG's. The initial situation and the retoric on the boards is pretty familiar to our situation a year or so ago but to our FO and SG's credit it was worked out. It really doesn't sound like the Kraft's care if this is worked out or not.

Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread The appeal on the red card might happen because its TH14. If it wasn't, it'd be met with the rubber stamp [DENIED]. Does the fact that its NY get this guy out of a fine where Spencer got suspended on top of his wallet raided?
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread I love how much emphasis is put into tiny little words in this world. Saying f*ck or shit is hardly the end of the world, but so many people get sand in their vaginas over curse words but are perfectly ok with violence... it's just so much hypocrisy here in the good old USA where words carry so much more weight than images we see. Except nudity of course, cause we can see violence, but heaven forbid we see a boob or something... lol. Cursing can be creative... but the point is, chill out people, words are words.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Is it okay that some people don't support profanity, violence or nudity?
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Sure, but real life is not so sheltered, and as such I think you should have exposure to certain things in a controlled environment, where as a parent, you can present examples to your child. If parents simply shelter them, they will hear these things or see these things somewhere else, whether it be from adults, or from being at a friend's house whose parents don't care at all... there is a line in there, and being a caring parent is the point. If you raise your kids up right, you can use something like profanity heard in public as a LEARNING experience, not just a platform to whine about something that you probably do yourself behind closed doors.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread To avoid the threadjack -- I don't see the need for me taking my 5 year old to a sporting event to be a "learning experience", and I understand there are a lot of people who don't agree with me, so we'll watch from home. Easy enough for all involved.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Howz 'bout Your mom's an internet porn star. Your mom's an internet porn star.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Sounds like you need to place your kid in a bubble and let them out when they are 18.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Thanks for the parenting tip, and for clearly understanding I was trying not to make a big deal out of what I said. I apologize for my desire to not have my son hear people scream "asshole" 20 or 30 times and how that obviously makes me such an overly protective parent.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread It's not just the cursing itself that is the problem with YSA. It's not creative, everyone else does it, and it just sounds dumb. I'm all for the Pedo song and the USA's Yankee Doodle song, but YSA just bugs me every time I hear it.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread I'm not offended by YSA but more embarrassed that our supporters groups can't come up with something better.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread I agree with this. Its just a dumb chant. I could care less about the cursing. My children will end up hearing it sometime at some other place so I get to give the lesson either at Crew Stadium or some other place.
Re: Adopted Cousin of Other Teams' News Thread Agreed...and it also seems like we hear the same songs and chants, which is getting old, too. We are in 124 and the people around me ask the same question..."Why are they always singing the same songs, it doesn't get anyone excited any more". Now, granted, I haven't put much thought into anything better. The only contribution I had was the clip in ELO's "It's A Living Thing" where they say "I'm taking a dive" or "I've taken a dive" to be played in the stadium when an opponent flops down like he's been shot. Silly, I know, but that's what I think of when I hear that part of the song, but it has nothing to do with new song lyrics and chants. I would like to hear some new catchy songs from the other side and try to listen to the words and get some of thsoe started on our side.
