It's a long off season and a lot can happen, but yes, i hope so. It wasn't until the very end of the season that he had acclimated to the U.S. and overcame a nagging groin injury. i'm anxious to see what he can do when given regular playing time. peter
Mr. Wilt, You still hold on to a player like Sumed Ibrahim. He didn't play much, but showed a lot of potential, and could be worked into a well knit group with the Fire. In this expansion year, and upcoming offseason, what are his prospects for staying in Chicago? Thanks, Marchetti
1. no. 2. In '98, the League participated in stadium operating costs, so the League took a bigger hit then than they will with RSL and CD Chivas USA. Adding Chicago and Miami expanded the League's footprint and made broadcast and sponsorship opprtunities more valuable. CD Chivas USA should be a positive addition to MLS economically directly and indirectly. RSL will ultimately be a positive economic addition to MLS especially after they develop an SSS. 3. Of course. peter
Peter, What are the plans for the netminder next year. Henry looks like he will be back. What about Zach and DJ. Don't need 3. It's interesting that DJ was on the worst team in the league 2 years in a row? Thx...BN
Hey Peter, The new Bridgview stadium designs do look very nice. Are there plans built into the stadium design that won't be part of the initial phase, but maybe added on at a later date?
How are discussions going with the MLS Players Union? Will we finally be hearing something from them soon?
1) a. No more so than any other MLS team, but the loan needs to have a reasonable purchase option of the contract. We almost had a loan of a Morlelia midfielder last year, but they changed coaches and the new coach wanted to keep the player. we're hopeful that we can achieve a loan from Morelia in 2005. b. It's possible, but more likely in 2006 when i believe their new training center is scheduled to be open. 2) In theory it could cause us to select a forward instead of another position player if all else is equal, but that's only if Jamaica and/or Costa Rica qualify, which is no certainty. The League is working hard to minimize schedule conflicts with WCQ and Gold Cup, so hopefully it's not much of an issue. 3) Storm. peter
You mean the seat number on world's largest ticket!?!?! i'll be in my season ticket seat: Section 114 Row U Seat 17. Hope to see everyone there. Go Storm! peter
It's still to be determined. i think Matt Pickens is the only Fire goalkeeper that is certain to return in 2005. Zach, Henry and DJ all handled the situation professionally this year and we are respectful and appreciative of that. They are all talented goalkeepers with the ability to be successful in MLS. peter
Peter Have you ever cranked one out to Heather Mitts or Coz? I have had some wine tonight and am in a good mood. So dont mind me. Its bigsoccer so anything goes. Go Storm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See ya tomorrow bud!!
It looks expendable in the south end zone too. Are there reasons why that is ot possible (even if not planned)?
permanent stage with a roof over it. Concerts will keep this building in business as much or more so than soccer. peter
Will you be bringing in additional staff to work on promotion and production of these types of events? If so, where do I send my resume?
Mr. Wilt, Do you have any particular "favorite moment" as GM of the Fire! that you would care to share with us? Thanks, Marchetti
