I may be drawn into an issue that involves a game protest. Without going into details to far, there was a technical mistake on the part of the referee. He got the restart right, but from the wrong spot. Rather than a defending DFK coming out, from within the PA, it was done near mid-field. Suffice to say there was MUCH arguing, coaches that should have been tossed etc. between the call and the restart, but it boils down to the correct restart from the wrong spot. Enough to rattle a 15 year old referee to allow the restart to be incorrectly placed. The issue did NOT change the outcome of the game per se (not like a PK given incorrectly etc) So while it is a technical mistake, where does the line fall in protests? Should this type of thing result in a re-play of the game.
