Potential US viewing... In other TV/video news -- FoxSoccer.tv is going to be revamped before the start of the season (cool) but will now cost $20 a month (not cool). Though with a subscription you'll be able to see almost every single R's Premier League match live online - so I'll be keeping my access. Some Saturday 3pm kick-offs could be picked up by Fox Soccer Plus.
On US TV right off the mark... Saturday, August 13, 2011 - 10:00 AM - LIVE Fox Soccer Plus (& FoxSoccer.tv) Barclays Premier League Queens Park Rangers v Bolton
OK, anyone got any advise on what I should sign up for for the coming season? FoxSoccer? FoxSoccerPlus? or FoxSoccer.tv? It seems as though each of them has a seperate monthly price and I can't deccide which one makes most sense
You can't get Fox Soccer Plus unless you have DirecTV or Dish Network. That said, I'd probably still get FoxSoccer.tv even if FS+ was an option. FoxSoccer.tv will probably have about 75% of the Rs matches on live (pretty amazing when you think about it). Fox Soccer Channel will have a few - as will ESPN2 (and ESPN3 broadband) - but the majority will be streamed live on FoxSoccer.tv. I've had a site subscription for a few years - it's great for me since I can watch at home or follow at work as well. Shame the price went up from $15 to $20 . I'll probably cancel my subscription to QPR Player and definitely will keep FoxSoccer.tv. Should also be noted that matches live on Fox Soccer Channel are not shown live on FoxSoccer.tv (usually a next day delay). Fox wants to keep people subscribing to the TV channel as well as the website.
I do have Dish. I think I will go with FoxSoccer.tv just because of th enumber of games, but I hate watching TV on my computer. Maybe I can get it to stream directly to the television. I get my Netflix straight to the TV. Does foxsoccer.tv have any Premiership round-up shows, or just individual matches?
Just matches, unfortunately. Premier League Review Show airs on FSC at 8pm on Sundays. That often gets repeated during the week on our local Comcast Sports Net.
I think we're getting FIOS in the new apartment. Verizon's website says it's $15/month extra for Fox Soccer Plus on FIOS. If we have one game on that channel per month, it'll be worth it in pub savings. We were moving last weekend, so I missed the Bolton match (glad I didn't see the last 25 minutes!). We're on FSC this weekend? Don't know if I'll have FIOS/cable set up yet, so may have to go out to Kitty's or somewhere for that one.
Let us know if you are going to go to Kitty's and I'll join you. I have FoxSoccer.net now so I can watch on the computer, but if you are going to be down the pub I'll come and join you. It'll be worth it for Kitty's full-on breakfast!!
Dylan, I am going to watch at Kitty's tomorrow. I might get there early to watch Liverpool v. Arsenal, as well. Hope to see you there.
The exciting home match v Newcastle will be shown on ESPN3 (online) and ESPN Deportes. Hope I can sneak out early that afternoon and watch at Fado (they should be able to get the Deportes feed in Spanish). ESPN Deportes - Monday, Sept. 12 Barclays Premier League Queens Park Rangers vs. Newcastle United 02:55 PM - 05:00 PM
I forgot we were on Monday. Hmm. I'll try to do the same (cut out early), but not sure if I can because I'm taking leave on Thu/Fri of that week to go to Seattle, so I doubt I can do it. If Summers will replay it around 7 p.m., I'll probably catch it there.
Yeah, I've used a lot of vacation during the August doldrums. Might be tough for me as well. I bet it will be on BBC London, might just listen at the office.
Turns out I have ESPN Deportes on FiOS, so I'll be able to record the game on Monday! I also sprung for Fox Soccer Plus and I see our game after next, at Wolves, is on their listings. I'll be out of town, but will at least be able to record it.
Match will be streamed on BBC London's site as well. Hope they don't start blocking that abroad now we're in the Prem. I'll probably just listen at work and catch our goals later http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/programmes/schedules/2011/09/12
TV/Internet for the match at Wolves tomorrow... 10:00 AM Barclays Premier League Wolverhampton v Queens Park Rangers LIVE - Fox Soccer Plus and FoxSoccer.tv
Looks like I'll be watching it at home (we now get Fox Soccer Plus) -- not sure if it'll be live, or recorded when we get home (we might be out on Sunday morning).
Dylan - sorry I wasn't able to meet up last weekend for Villa. Let's try to get together at Flanagans for a match soon. For Fulham, the TV/stream info is a little unorthodox -- Fulham v Queens Park Rangers Sunday, October 2nd Kick-off: 3pm UK/10am ET Live on FoxSoccer.tv 1/2 hour delay on Fox Soccer Plus - shown in entirety at 10:30am I'll probably just watch live at home
Yep! I was expecting to be able to see everything on FoxSoccer.tv, but so far there have been cable/satellite options for all matches. Which is nice when you'd like to go to a pub. Looking ahead, Blackburn home match on Oct 15 could be our first web only (with FS+ tape delay) fixture. Then FSC for Chelsea, Spurs and City
