After our amazing dramatic win vs. Los Ticos, we are facing Mexico in the quarter final, with a great opportunity to advance for the semi. We already won Mexico in Toulon and surely suppose to be a bit easier then CRC match because the mexican will probably try to attack more then CRC, that way we'll have much more spaces. The only thing that bothers me is our defense, while Murillo out for booking and Luciano  Ospina will replace him, while we still don't know what will happen with Quiñonez.

    Suerte Cafeteros!!

    good luck.

I think the better question is how we didn't give ourselves a comfortable lead with the stats clearly in our favor. We've wasted more corners than can be counted on ones hand. Ridiculous.

What really disgusts me is the attitude this kid cabezas showed. Faking an injury, cryin to come off. I'm pretty sure that 2nd goal we let in was a result of his lax man marking. Its funny how when he came off the pitch he was able to run perfectly fine.

3-1 on our own home ground. ********ing Brilliant!

Goalkeeping howlers after gk howlers at every level.. We can never have a solid team EVER in every category :(

News flash: Lara elected new senior level nt interim football coach...bolillo given humanitarian award for saving a local pig from slaughter...maturana elected mayor of bogota and will erect a new subway system that will be the best in the world....

second goal all thanks to pedro franco could of kicked it out of bounds instead lets it go for a corner in which the mexicans score..what an embarassment, we out play them and lose 3-1

Bonilla should of saved all the goals and we should of won 1-0.

    They were all stoppable.

Well, I wasted the past two hours of my life..no, Fakc that, I've wasted 22 years watching this crap.

I hope yall enjoyed watching us in a mundial while it lasted because, with the support this and the other clown have, we're not going back to one for another 20 years. At any age level.

I laughed for a good 5 minutes when he decided to substitute Calle for Ortega.

Very disappointing. Very disappointing 2011 that we all been waiting for. The senior was eliminated in the QF vs. an underdog team, the U-20 did the same. IN both cases we were better then the opponent, which is even two times disappointing.
Colombia played well today. Before the penalty, after the penalty, we were much better then the Mexicans but couldn't score. The reason for today's lost was our players themselves. In my opinion, I'm not sure at all that Cabezas commited a foul, wasn't a clear call but even if the red made a mistake, it happens in football. The we equalised with so much luck, and in the last 20 minutes our defense gave them the match. The second goal was stoppable and Bonilla should take it but the whole blame is on Pedro Franco, who could easily send the ball to Bonilla or for a throw in instead of this corner.
3rd goal and less meanningful was purely Bonilla's fault. So congrates to the Mexicans but I really feel that we lost mmuch more then they won. Unfortunately Lara changed the lineup with Zapata for Valencia. I think Duvan is a great player but rule no 1 in football: You do not make changes in a winning team unless it's necessary like in Murillo's case. Hopefully this was Lara's last game as Colombia's senior or youth coach.

Mexico were lucky, but once again Lara was badly outcoached... Damn... Is like somebody out there is sending us a message and the only ones that can't hear it are the clowns from the Federation...

    Just watched my DVR. Devastating.

    Big stuff for me:

Wasted opps: We really lost the match in the first half by wasting a thousand and one clear opportunities in front of goal. Quinones and Ospina both had absolute sitters to deal with and were unable to even get a shot on goal.

Leadership failure: For the first time all tournament, James lost his cool and he looked psyched out by the constant fouling and his teammates doing dumb things. Franco also looked exasperated and confused - aside from the set up for their second goal with the free corner (didn't you just KNOW it was going in when he gave up on that play?), he had a clean opp at the end of the game and headed it sideways instead of at the goal.

Poor coaching: Lara did several odd things for this game that appeared to be done with the intention of confusing the Mexicans but just served to throw our team off:

    - Starting James off on the right wing: He never looked comfortable there, was dispossessed a couple of times and unable to manage the midfield as a result. Once he flipped back to the left he became a factor again, but didn't get in a single of his signature crosses from that spot all game.

    - Starting Zapata over Valencia: I know he scored the goal, but playing him upfront implied a change to formation (which drove playing James on the right) that seemed to unsettle the side

    - Subbing off Ortega for Calle: Felt we needed him on the pitch.

Is it only me, or do you guys have the feeling that our coaches do not deserve our players?

Man, with decent coaches Colombia should have been in the finals of the last two tournaments and the fact that we squandered a million chances to score only serves to cover the ineptitude in the bench...
