According to NASL commissioner Bill Peterson's interview in this radio podcast, it does appear that a new group of investors are presently trying to prop-up the Puerto Rico Islanders. There's a strong possibility that the team may be back by 2015. Keep your fingers cross. The interview starts at the 33 minute.

Makes sense. When Islanders were trying hard they had great attendance. A good business plan could work there. Travel I think was the tricky part.

It wasn't really travel. Their attendance fell off a cliff.

But thats because the moved venues and their investment group (including the gov't) just rolled over and died.

When things were going normally, they had very good attendance.

And the reason they moved venues was because their home stadium was being renovated. Once it was finally finished the damage had been done.

The latest? The same as last month, and the month before that, and the month before that:

    There is no team.
