I love the "Dream Bigger" sign. I wonder if its partly a dig at certain French teams who only dream to dominate Ligue 1 and did not "dream bigger" than that.
i personally loathe it. i had nothing against "rêver plus grand" per se (though i was dismayed to see it displace ICI C'EST PARIS to an obscure corner of the parc), but a motto in english, i'm sorry, i have a big problem with that. and btw, although they failed rather pathetically, for several years OL had every intention of winning the CL and actually came closer than many think.
COMPLETELY agree. is the club for paris or london ya know. use the language your hometown supporters speak. i also strongly dislike when i watch a game from italy or france and all the music is english.
Well, it's written in French on the left of the logo and in English on the right of it. Zlatan is a rock star
Is this the only english forum for PSG. I have been following PSG since the arrival of Leonardo, but have failed to find any other english forum.
French teams have always done a poor job of marketing themselves outside of France so its no surprise teams don't have English language forums. Too be fair though, there probably wasnt a big demand or interest for them until now. French teams never attracted a big bandwagon/worldwide fanbase until now with PSG because they never attracted the big names that those people would be interested in. I mean for example AC Milan have a very active and popular English language site but they have been a huge club attracting big names for many years now so teams like PSG have so much catching up to do because the previous ownerships put them too far behind the eight ball. I don't wanna pick on Olympique Lyon because I really do like the club but they won 7 titles in a row and had a huge profile in Europe during that span so you'd think they would pick up a ton of new fans in the US, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, etc and they did pick up some but not enough because they didnt sign the big name players that those casual bandwagon fans would know and that would garner major media attention. There's no big OL English language forum out there which kinda proves the point.
Since TS doesnt seem to happy about leaving Milan and joining PSG, you think maybe they should have got someone else whos maybe not as good but more excited about coming ? Again maybe its crazy talk but its something to think about. I know how great he is but I would have been fine with Rami or Mexes who you know would relish playing for PSG.
its not about the players lyon bought.. its marketing.. french teams have poor marketing.... their not branching out.. still stuck in the cave days... also factor mismanagement .. look how bad OM was managed in the 90's that caused their fall... PSG had the perfect opportunity to take over but terrible mismanagement they could not until lyon came in...... french clubs are not marketable their no global appeal... teams like juventus or bayern munich are not stranded with big stars or have the same audience like madrid and manchaster but yet their global entities and recognized..
he says he wants 9 but since that's already hoarau's they'll have to fight for it in the traditional highland manner: bare breasted and with an 8 lb. baby in one arm.
I saw this little nugget here and I was afraid to see it but its probably a sign of things to come. Just a little something for the pro French anti PSG crowd to hold their hat on. http://news.maxifoot.fr/info-162055_120719/football.php
Thats all true except for saying Juventus and Bayren Munich dont have big stars. They have at least a few then thats enough. They may be a small step below Madrid and Manchester in popularity but its a really small step. Also Lyon had poor marketing but signing a big name player gets you the big headlines all over and thats instant marketing right there.
Criticizing anything French is not any better, being happy everytime there is a rumor of the departure of Chantome or Sakho because they are out of PSG academy, or saying that foreigners will show the french how it's done is really not any better.
