I repeatedly see some version of the "Prozone shows that 99 per cent of offside were correct" line.

I have a question to which I cannot find an answer.

    Does ProZone account for non-calls?

If offside is not called when the player was, in fact, off, will ProZone account for the non-call?

    Thanks.

We would need to know what they use as an offside decision.

Technically every time the ball is touched there is an offside decision but most of them either are no brainers or they don't impact the game. You could make it where 99.99% of offside decisions are correct in the Premier League if take every pass as an offside decision or you could probably get down to 75 to 80% or even lower if you take just the tightest of tight calls.

It can account for whatever you want it to account for. What PGMOL uses it for only they know.

It's quite amazing technology if you've never seen it before. It was built for coaching and tactics, not for referees. However, it's also clearly very useful for referee development as well.

You can ask it any question related to the game and it will bring them all up. In this case with PGMOL saying they are 99% correct on offside decisions it would depend on what question they are asking the system to analyze. Hopefully they are being 'honest' instead of just using the 'system' to claim their high rates of success, but who knows.

It's expensive but for top flight soccer whether it be coaching or refereeing it's invaluable.
