I may be wrong here but I am pretty sure Syracuse has Dave and Busters logo, not Dunkin' Doughnuts.

I was doing a search on line and found this not sure if it means anything at all but the original NISL website never had that much white in the back ground , April 11th not sure what it means but the blast has never had a NISL game in April since it was only used in 2009 season and the Blast won the championship game in March at the Baltimore Arena .

The PASL never had an April game either and 1st Mariner Arena no longer exists.

I've made a few calls, read the local papers, spoke to a friend who is involved in the Warwick Indoor complex where some of the Revs guys coach in the off season........nothing. Haven't heard a thing.

Hope it happens but they haven't exactly been beating the bushes looking for investors. I'm not pretending to know everyone in town, but this entire state only has 1 million people, there are military bases and private ranchs out West that are larger than RI. I worked for the largest financial company in the state, if someone was looking for an investor to fund/partially fund a pro indoor team, I think I would have heard something about it.

The prior attempt to get a team into MISL around here involved the Mohegan Sun casino arena and the Dunkin Donuts Center. People knew my history and itwas an open topic. John Colletto and I had numerous discussions about the state of indoor.

The proposed Smithfield Rhode Island NASL team, the New England Storm had a lot of buzz, if this indoor team exists they have been fairly quiet locally. They also have someone who can fund the team and has worked out a deal with the 'Dunk'. That place is expensive, its a real arena with real costs, the team (if it exists) will get a distant 3rd on the depth chart too. Providence Bruins hockey and Providence College basketball have been long time anchor tenants.

    There are some alternatives......

Teamworks Warwick. Indoor Soccer Complex. Few seats for spectators.

Providence College hockey. Ive never heard of them renting it out. No turf.

CCRI. A USBL team played there. No turf. No boards. Plenty of parking.

URI Convocation Center. Pretty big. No turf. No boards. 30 miles out of Providence, only 7 miles from Connecticut. People in Providence are not going to make this drive.

Walpole Arena. Perfect size. No turf. 15 miles. North of town in Massachusetts

Right after it came out, I shot an e- mail to the author of the article where Coach Tanner mentioned Providence. He felt Coach T was simply throwing a regional name out as an example. He didn't get any indication there was something actually in the works.

Too bad. I was thinking maybe the Providence Destiny.
