Im sure there are many more out there like me who have followed FULHAM_FTW's guide on how to use Angelus leather paint to customise your football boots. However I have been trying for over 4 months now and the paint just will not stay on the boot. My latest attempt chipped off at the first time of asking.

I think my problem may lie in preapring the boot correctly. I know to use pure acetone as this takes the finish off, and I even know to do it with heated acetone as this is far more effective at taking the finish off (be careful extremely flammable. Two fires in the kitchen) however the paint just does not stay on.

I also use the acrylic finisher once the paint has dried (3 or 4 layers) but this doesnt seem to help.

If anyone could give me any advice i would be greatly appreciative!
